Coleman Statement on New Living Wage Law

(Saint Paul) – Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman released the following statement today after the City Council unanimously approved a new Living Wage Ordinance for the City of Saint Paul:

"This ordinance is about responsible City investments and making sure the City uses its limited resources wisely. After months of working together with labor, faith and business leaders, I am confident that we've crafted a strong and sensible living wage law that is good for working families in Saint Paul."

You'll see lots of reporting soon. My friend told me that the city is trying to stop the landlords from taking the depositions of some city council memebers and the whole deal is going to court later this month. I can't wait to see what that is about. If the city council and the mayor think they have done no wrong, why do they not want to have their depositions taken? Sure looks like they are trying to hide something to me, what other answer could there be?

The media will never report about these things unles it is the Watchdog or some other small paper, and St. Paul is never going to change anything. The Mayor that got elected is just some sissy that bends at the ankles every time something difficult comes along. We may as well have had the city council just take over the city because that is all the Coleman administration is.....just an extension of the city council he once sat on.

Just feel good legislation that does nothing at all. Typical for St. Paul, they pass legislation that's nothing but hot air while they pretend to care about people and at the same time there are low income types removing the asbestos from District Council development projects for minimum wage and no protection against the dangers, all the while the city is saying they have to tear down Jessamine becasue of the asbestos being removed in much the same way.

Mayor Coleman,

What do you think about the City not doing anything about those poor homeless people working for peanuts removing asbestos without protective gear working for favored non-profit developement companys?

And what about those kids that got exposure to asbestos trying to learn a trade, working on a North East Development Company project?

Is the City going to stand by in complicity with these kinds of actions in the future?

Is the local media ever going to do it's job and report these kinds of incidence which are easily verified?

You know there is some dark places in this City, and it is time they see some SUNSHINE!

Mayor Chris Coleman, he is one person that doesn't care about others.
Just so his life is fine.
When the Schmidt Brewing Co.
was turned into the Ethanol Plant,
Chris was all for the Ethanol Plant.
When the black shouts was landing in Coleman's yard on the West Side, he was first to complain.
The smell was so bad in that neighborhood from the Ethanol, people complained.
Their complaints were not heard till, Chris Coleman was mad about the shout.
Coleman might not care for anything but $$$$$$$$$ Money.
