First of all, happy birthday to Mayor Coleman, who turns 48 today. Now onto business.

And by business, we mean elections.

The Coleman campaign sent out a letter yesterday from First Lady Connie Coleman asking for donations in advance of Coleman's birthday. Very cute indeed, but Coleman's birthday happens to fall the day after the close of the campaign finance reporting period. This is a time-honored political tradition -- puffing out your war chest. That report is due Friday, and the size of it should say something about Coleman's potential gubernatorial prospects.

Also, Friday is the first day we get a peek at challenger Eva Ng's finances. When she filed for mayor back in April, Ng merely listed $2,000 in liquid (cash) assets.

Secondly, today is the first anniversary of the start of the Republican National Convention. At this point last year, the Scoop and most of its colleagues were dodging smoke cannisters on Kellogg Boulevard and other downtown locations. (It's easier than it sounds. Really. You just move when they point the cannister at you.)

To mark the occasion, Ramsey County Attorney candidate Dave Pinto sent out an invitation to a civil liberties discussion to be held Sept. 10 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Bean Factory on Randolph Avenue.

"Although county and city officials planned carefully for convention protests, the end result was far from ideal for all involved," Pinto said.

To us, the event itself is less interesting than what it means for all the other likely candidates -- Tammy Pust, David Schultz and John Choi (and perhaps Choi most of all). The 2008 Republican National Convention -- specifically the clash between protesters and police -- will be an issue in the 2010 Ramsey County attorney's race.

And we don't think we're going too far out on a limb here -- in fact, not far at all -- to say the same about the 2010 sheriff's race.

Bill Dahn is on the voters side, he started blowing the whistle on St.Paul's government in 1996 and still points at the scum that run this city.

Hi Sharon,

I gave this some thought and I dumped FACEBOOK. There is a lot I don't like about it. First and foremost, I don't need a public arena to show the world who I interact with. That is my business.

Facebook is a useful resource in other ways. :)

To you Demo's that are afraid of the truth of crime in city government being exposed by Bill or Sharon.

I Bill Dahn did not spam anything or anyone.

I am just a candidate for St.Paul Mayor and I paid my filing fee the same as Coleman and Ng.
So get off your high and do something to help the people of this city, but no you and these "crooks" that get elected because of the money that backs the most crooked political party on earth. ( DFL ) !

You put my name out there and I get to respond back, with the real truth about St.Paul Cooked people in city government.
Bill Dahn for St.Paul's Mayor.

Bill the courts would never let you take office. its one thing to elect a clown as governor and another as senator, but a mentally ill individual who can't manage his monthly government check is not going to get the keys to a half billion dollars. your election will be over next week.Bob, everbody knows that you use facebook for spying on people like some creepy molester. Sharon is another who has nothing productive to do so she surfs the internet for social security.

My response;
Creepy molester? I'm one of those guys that would seek backwoods retribution for the crime of molestation.

Facebook if you haven't been there is a who's who of city politics. Not complete but good. I challenge anyone who is concerned about city government to check it out.

Even that the Cheating Demo-crap Party fixed the election using ACORN to get illegal's and dead people voting to get OBAMA in, is just as crooked as the Demo-Craps that run St.Paul's City Government.
We The People Don't like "crooks" in politics.

Bill Dahn for St.Paul Mayor

Chris Coleman this is the 8 anniversary of 9-11 200, the day I lost my home due to the "1.51 PPM Formaldehyde" Insulation that Ramsey Action Program.
They did 200,000 homes in Minnesota, and the Demo-Crap party covered up for crime against the people.

These figures came strait from Dale Anderson of RAP and my ex lawyer Dean B.
This is nice that one of the Demo-Craps would bothers to respond back
I'm glad it was you,
You seen the papers that you copied for me, doctor statements, letters from and to Paul Wellstone, the letter from Maxion Testing of St.Paul that Anne Cook Thunderhawk of Sandy Papass office had it tested 1.51 PPM formaldehyde.
lets say that seems high and over the MN Health Dept. level of .10 PPM. --- That is 15 times over.
How about that sewer gas that RAP sent letters out saying there was sewer gases going though the furnace and it was a health and safety problem and it should be fixed immediately. RAP's work!
You remember Tom Lapitt, Wellstone's man that watched the video called LOOK AT RAP'S WORK.
He called and left a message that he watched the video and said to get two new estaminets on my home.
RAP "lied" about my home for years,
Jesse and Dean B. help speak about how sick the two became after 20 minutes.
The letter is on my web site under "Homestead" >>> www.billdahn.com <<<

Bill Dahn the person that fights for his and others rights.

Bill, you are recalling that incorrectly. There are NOT 200,000 households in Ramsey County. Try to stay focused and look it up yourself. RAP was a small time nonprofit serving people in Ramsey County. They helped people who needed help with energy bills, head start for young children, assisted parents of children with special needs, helping individuals conserve energy- through things like insulation, and adults become self-sufficient.

RAP is now partnered with Community Action and their reach has expanded into Washington County but, they are not an insulation only organization. They do not have a huge budget and it looks like they probably served about 200 homes.

What have they, a small non-profit, have to do with sewer gas? DSI should have had you out of that house if it was leaking sewer gas and formaldehyde. However, you believe you had a right to stay there. Good thing you don't smoke.
