Hi All,

I found the following story interesting because I use to live at this apartment complex as a handyman.

The apartment I was given as part of my maintenance package had previously had a homicide committed in it and the carpet in the unit was never removed and it still had the blood stains of the victim.

I replaced 3 doors the police had shot the locks off to serve search warrants. On one of the doors the tenant was firing back at the police through the door.

I will tell you one thing. Everyone likes the handyman and I don't care who you are. I never had any problems with anyone when I lived there. All the kids in the building, including my son played in the hall ways because there wasn't a playground any where near.

It is a 60 unit apartment building that is a sound good looking structure built in the 60's. When I moved in the owner was dealing with problem tenants to get the City off her back.

Here is the story.....

Two charged after woman's body found in dumpster
Last update: June 11, 2007 – 5:18 PM

Two people were charged Monday afternoon with interference with a dead body after the body of 42-year-old Laura B. Grogan, who had been missing for more than a month, was discovered Saturday night in a dumpster at a south Minneapolis apartment building. Linda Lundquist, 52, and Greg Gulrud, 47, remain in custody at the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center with bail set at $1,000. Interference with a dead body is a gross misdemeanor.
The medical examiner's office has yet to determine when or how Grogan died, although Grogan's sister, Lisa Overlin, said that officials there told her it appears Grogan had been dead for three to four weeks.

Overlin first heard about the bizarre series of events late Sunday and still hadn't spoken to police to verify any details being reported by some media outlets.

She said her sister, who had moved into an apartment at 2300 Pleasant Av. S. a few months ago, had recently befriended the man who was arrested. But she could not confirm a KMSP-TV report that Grogan's body had been wrapped in a large cardboard box and that the two people arrested had asked a neighbor at the Bryant Towers apartments at 2001 Bryant Av. S. for help to move it to the dumpster.

Overlin said her sister suffered from bipolar disorder and had a history of substance abuse.

Though she called news that Grogan's body had been found a relief and that "it's better than not knowing," she said many questions remain that her family hopes will be answered.
