In the Halls of A Democracy, any government official who would ignore civil rights is a PIG!

That is sad.

The woman needs to get an order.

She could have easily taken some pictures of his piles of wood and junk. And piles of dirt and his bob cat, all from the road.

Then go to any judge and say that from what we see from the road we believe he is burying garbage on the site and get a warrant to go on to the property to investigate if he was turning the land into a dump without permits.

Not hard, and her job.

And the officers job to know that the inspector can't come on the site with permission or an order.

...which is why C of O's are required... so landlords...businesses give permission to be on the site to have the permit to rent, do business.

...and why there is a vacant building ordinance so that there is in effect an ongoing relationship between the City and the property.

...but I am with you on this one and hope both the young lady and the deputy lose their jobs. They shouldn't be in the business they are in.

Looking at the video of this guy chasing the inspector to the back of the trailer, I believe the guy was excavating to install a septic tank without a permit. This gal knew it too.

However, she and this deputy sheriff are a couple of idiots. Like Chuck said, they could have obtained a warrant with the pictures taken from the street.

Thank for the memories.

The law officers don't do their job and allow the city or county to walk all over our rights.

Same old Nazi shit. The cop has to be there because she is afraid for her safety, but the cop stays back at the road so how safe is she really if that was the real reason. Your right be damned they don't care. That's exactly why St. Paul is being sued. Not because they can't enforce codes, but because of the way they do it and the false violations they fabricate in doing so.

When you hear the whole story about what happened in St. Paul and see all the eveidence Chuck you'll hope some people lose their jobs here too, including some city council people.

Isn't that just like the Government to insinuate that you are hiding something because you want to assert your rights. It's them against us, they don't give a godamn what your rights are. What's important to them is what they want.

9:39 - I have heard the stories of how, because the City brought a large police officer with them, they were "tricked" into letting them in, or without telling the landlord the tenant let them into the building to inspect....

Sorry folks, you actually have to say no you can't come in and mean it to get my sympathy.

Remember, I had someone from this list call the inspectors on my duplex claiming that there were to many people living there (dozens were the report and there was 3 upstairs 2 downstairs) and my tenant let the inspector in (who did a full inspection) because she thought she had to.

Chuck,
What kind of shit is this anyway. For the city to exploit the trust and goodwill to get entry is chickenshit, pure and simple. People had come to expect professional treatment from the city. Now they just want to push people around.

That's not right that people play games by using code inspectors to take vengeance on someone.
Your saying what happen to you, and the same or worst happens everyday to someone.
We stand up to the three fazes of government and they try to say a person is mental or nuts, just to shut you up.
somebody might have a stand-off, our state then will get all the fame they deserve.

Chuck there were renter who did tell the city they had no problem and did not want the city in their apartment. It did no good. They were told the city had to come in and that was the reason for the police being there.

If you don't let them in, they will just kick the door in,
and say they heard someone yelling, than they need no warrants.
This shows people that they do as they please.

I was talking to someone yesterday from Main Street in St. Paul. She had a relative that was jerked around by the city. It is becoming more and more clear that this city has problems, and, despite the best efforts by Chuck and Eric, the mayor has to go, followed by the dity council.

Only trouble is that by the time the city council can get kicked out the city will be damaged so bad it'll take decades for it to recover, if ever!

The erosion of the 4th Amendment brought to you by Reagan/Bush's War on Drugs.

Its started with questionable searches for DUI suspicion(Michigan vs Sitz) and now any illegal 'suspicion' can lead to searching your person and property at will.

It's only been less than 20 years to make a joke out of an Amendment that had been in place for 200 years.

Think about that next time you're ready to give up your 'rights' in the name of safety/security or law and order.

The irony is that the Presidents that the right tend to hold up as beacons of freedom (Reagan and Bush jr), have done the most weaken the Bill of Rights.

But... the rich got tax cuts so it was ok, right?
