More bullshit from Bob.

From the story link:

"Aides are quick to say the first lady isn’t planning on having an independent policy power center in the East Wing. “Our job is to think through with the president and with the president’s team and assist in dialogue about policy. But the president is the policymaker,” said chief of staff Jackie Norris. In other words, it isn’t likely that Michelle Obama will be on the phone introducing herself to lawmakers on Capitol Hill, like Hillary Clinton did as first lady. At least not yet."

--------
Nancy Regan with the very expensive "Just Say No" policy she led.

Barbara Bush with her AIDS Awareness Policy that led to real African Policy and a joint effort with Princess Di.

Hillary with her Health Care Project.

Laura Bush with her literacy peoject and whatever else she did. Her ol' man had us bogged down in war the entire time so she didn't have any money to play with.

First Ladies have had policy pet projects since Abigail Adams in 1797. She fought for public education and girls in school. She was mocked as "Mrs President" by the opposition because she was very instrumental in sending letters to friends and relatives in support of her husbands policies, to be printed as editorials from regular folks.
----------

This is on news to people who know nothing of the Presidency and only seek to be critical to point of petty with this President.

Grow up and learn something.

I agree that this article only suggests what we have always known about presidents wives.

They need something to do while their husbands are consumed in the day to day operations of Government.

I don't suppose their wives are allowed to have outside employment,
are they ?

If you were president and had a wife, I am sure that if she wanted to influence her husbands policy decisions, the bedroom would be a place to start.

Ever wonder if Bill Clinton let Monica in on any policy decisions ?

In Britain, the wife of the Prime Minister can work. At least the last one did, Cheri Blair kept her job with the Public Relations firm she worked for.

We'd loose our cookies if that happened here.

I think its archaic that we still expect the wife to stay and play hostess. Especially when many of them have educations and careers.
