There will be plenty more when the frist ones, and they will win, it is just a matter of time. Hopefully they will be going on when the city coucnil stands for election next year. I heard there are going to be all kinds of protests at city hall next summer and fall just like the ones when Kelly was trying to get reelected. They wont be acting so arrogant then I'll bet.

I know the plantiffs in the third lawsuit and they are long time loyalist to St.Paul and grew up there. These guys are great assets to the city and I was suprised to hear they were being targeted by the city. They are a class act that bring value to the city and turned neighborhoods around.Young entrepreneurs I'm affraid that have been chased from St.Paul.St.Paul's busy giving special kickbacks to out of town businesses to lure them here when we had a home grown business right here spending their own money making St.Paul a better place. Its a damn shame.

You don't seem to understand how things work young man. The city does not want your hommies spending their own maoney to make the city better, they want the developers and deep pockets who can give them kick backs and donate to their political campaigns. Ya got it now?

I'd like to tell you what the city did to me but i still have rental property and i do not want to make things worse on me if they figure who i am from my story. I am selling my properties and when i do i will be back here. I will also be downtown with my attorney and a suprise they are not going to like. The city cannot do the things they are doing and if they want to make me sell my 2 retnal houses, i will use the money to sue them along with the rest of the people.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I own a four plex in highland and I have never had a problem with inspectors. Are you guys all nuts or what?

anonymous 11:01 2 reasons you don't get harrassed.
1.)A four plex gets inspected by the fire dept. and they aren't as corrupt as the NHPI dept.(only a few bad apples in that group)
2.)Its in Highland park.I'm sure your rents are high enough not to attract affordable housing tenants.

But if you don't mind me asking, what is the make-up of your tenants?

11:37 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Actually 11:01 there are 3 reasons.

#3 is the fact you only have one building. You really don't make it on the cities radar with 1 property.

Rumor has it that there are inspectors that have their own attorneys that are representing their interests. They're scared due to the uncertainty of these cases and that they're coming up on retirement.

The make up of my tenants are good tenants. I don't rent to the drug dealing, dope sniffing, anti social crowd that you guys do, and if you have more than one property, you probably deserve the extra attention you're getting. I have all I can do to take care of the one that I own in highland. Why don't you guys get a life. Go work on your buildings or something. Just how many do you have if you don't mind me asking?

To the problem-less 4 -plex owner:

What's with the "you guys" stuff? None of us knew each other until the city started their plan to rid the city of the "undesireables". You should feel blessed that you are doing well in your rental business. I wouldn't wish the city's destructive inspectors on anyone. One thing though, you should probably stop pointing your accusing, judgmental finger at all here. We will all survive one way or another. I happen to know people in the law suit and other landlords and I can honestly say they are intelligent people who can fix and operate their buildings and can tolerate a lot of things. They also care about the people they rent to. We are people just like you only we had some evil, power-hungry people play games with our lives and business. If you think that it's a bunch of nonsense, there's nothing I can do about that, but just don't ever say never. Because things could happen to you too. You just don't know what God has in store for you. Humility is a much better look, try it.

I have a couple question for the lucky person with the 4-plex. First you say you don't rent to the drug sniffing people that we do, do you think we intensionally look for someone on drugs to rent to? That answer is simple no we do not. I personally have each tenant sign a lease which states no drugs or other illegal practices are allowed. Second , how do you know if your tenants are using drugs or not, do you give them random drug tests? You can't always tell if someone is using or not, remember alot of professionals have become addicts this includes some of the law enforcement also.(Due to the everyday stress their job involves). If I remember correctly when I was in treatment they called that an excuse or denial. So the point is don't be so sure to brag about your tenants, because you never know what goes on behind closed doors until the city decides to opoen those doors, then its to late. So just be thankful for what you have and say your prayers you could be next.

This could be a new topic, however I'll just post here to the most current. This was taken from Edemo today. The irony of this is amazing! St. Paul councilperson Thune raves at the school district's humanity in serving food to the poor and homeless, the HOMELESS?? How did some become homeless? This reaks. And he's proud!! Then he says society is intent on punishing the poor!! I'd say he has that a little backwards. Go look within your organization and personell, Mr. Thune and open your eyes.

by Dave Thune

"The chicken was frozen and loaded Tuesday onto a "food rescue" truck. The next
morning, it was served as breakfast to the homeless and the working poor,
dressed up with some gravy made in the St. Paul Salvation Army kitchen."

This quote from today's St. Paul Pioneer Press (Schools' scraps can be a
gift, or just trash) is an example of our school district's efficiency and
humanity. It made me very proud to be a parent and resident of this city. It
speaks to the commitment of our school district to be part of an effort to
cross boundaries and address issues like poverty and hunger that both
directly and indirectly affect the futures of our children.

The food donated by St. Paul Schools fed hundreds at the Salvation Army, two
blocks from my house - hundreds who otherwise would've started the day
hungry. On their behalf I thank our School District for their continuing work
to allow families to provide for themselves and their children in a society
which often appears more intent on punishing the poor.

I also seen that post and the first thing out of my mouth was "I wonder why there are so many homeless" thanks to the city officials I think we know the answer, I also thought the same thing that this man is now bragging about this contribution to feed the homeless, it is the city that made these people homeless. Every try to get a job without an address or phone number? The odds are against all odds for that happening. If Thune wants something to brag about he should get invovled in stopping the city from taking private properties that house the already hurting class of citizens.

Dave Thune votes every single week to make more people homeless, and then wants to attach himself to whatever soloution comes along to try and fix it. Getting a free meal here and there doesn't make up for being kicked out of your home and onto the street Dave, and living in a house with some code violations is not as dangerous as living on the street or under a bridge.

Thunes post should be a new topic because I'd like to go into the facts of the vacant housing boom. How he talks of the schools throwing scraps to homeless people. How about loosening the vacant building codes and using these homes and buildings for subsidized housing.Oh wait then they might bring down property values. So we better just let them eat scraps and live under bridges Dave.

We the voters find the City Council guilty! Kathy Lantry has taken this city in a direction that is going to take years to recover from. It is time for all of them to go.

City inspectors, council members and everyone else who works at city hall make up the "city hall". With that said who here thinks that getting rid of the city hall, the office the hall leading to the office and the building the houses the offices of all and including the office over on White Bear Avenue, will stop all mentioned above from doing more evil deeds? That sounds absurd right? Then why do they think this way about buildings? They all need to go. We need to vote them out!!!

I wonder if Kathy Lantry's house has all its codes? Maybe someone should look at it...her address is.** *******.

1:22 PM

Bob> to anonymous 1:22, I deleted Kathy Lantrys address. I said before that it would upset me to post City officials addresses.

There is a fellow in West St. Paul in hot water over that very thing. Also, the WATCHDOG never prints City officials addresses.

If you want to put your name and addresses on your comment with her address GO FOR IT. Currently this blog is in my name and I feel I have certain responsibilities.

I just read this over at E-Democracy:

Quality of life crimes
are up in recent months, 1,000 per month over the last nine months,
Chief Harrington wrote in today's paper. There are fewer police on
the street to deal with routine calls. Serious crime is up
marginally. In general, things are getting worse, not better, and
that understandably should have people concerned, and advocating for
a beefed-up city response.

Are they really surprised that crime is going up not down? They can't be that ignorant to the situation the city is causing themselves can they?
What human wouldn't feel forced to commit a crime when they are kicked out of their home with a 24 hour notice, how else will they come up with the money needed to get a new roof over their families head.

Why don't Kath Lantry and her behavior police just throw out some more people on the street and tear down some more houses? That should make the crime go down some more. In fact, I wonder if it would be cheaper to tear down more houses than hire more police? After all Kathy is a property manager and has all the answers when it comes to this kind of thing.....jsut ask any housing inspector. Maybe we should do a study! What about it Kathy?

They are still pumping out their amazement over at Edemo about those scrap handouts by the school district. If anyone realizes how much money schools receive and how much waste there is, they wouldn't be glowing over this practice. It is the tax payer's money in the first place and the schools should be acting responsibly with it. I think it's kind of sick that these Edem people think the school is sainted because they gave their leftovers to the poor. Do they think about the other 51 weeks of the year and how these people will eat? Not to mention live? No they just want to pat themselves on the back because their kids and their district are involved in such a charitable act.

Encourage the city to toss them out in the streets. Then toss some old bologne and stale bread at them. This should make the neighborhood more safe, beautiful and yet let their "good deeds" have them "feel" better because Lord knows we all have to feel good.
