Hi All,
I use to live on Wordsworth Ave directly, behind this location. I have friends (former neighbors) who still live there. I also work in this area 3 and 4 times a week so I know it well.
I am not against pawn shops they provide a valuable service to folk's who don't have credit. However, this is not a good location for this business. There would be increased traffic on residential streets to the north and west of the business. There is many families with small children in this area and the increased traffic from patrons of this business would be a threat to safety.
This location is at the end of West 7th St. and the beginning of Highway 5, the street in this location is more like an on & off ramp for a freeway. Many cars traveling east from highway 5 are traveling at over 50 mph to West 7th St.. Cars coming and going to this business during rush hours would create a hazard for all drivers.
I think the pawn shop owners are thinking more about exposure than safety.
This fantastic! It's about time the city start adressing the needs of some of the working criminals in the city. Now they do not have to go so far to fence their shit. Less time taking care of administrative duties is a lot more productivity and that menas the economy is getting stimulated. Way to go private sector.
Look out Highland Park.
Thanks to the city this will make the job or the criminal easier, as they don't have to drive so far to fence their goods.
Folk's, pawn shops record serial numbers of property pawned and they share these serial numbers with the police.
Criminals have wised up and rarely pawn stolen merchandise.
Hi All
Not good for the Highland area, the crime rate will skyrocket from druggies going their to fence their bounty their just stolen in that neighborhood.
St.Paul need a excuse to hire more cops and raise your taxes, this just happens to be in ward 2 witch is Dave buffoon Thune's ward.
I located a nice two bedroom home on the west side that I can buy and run for councilman or mayor, then we can show all the people of St.Paul what the Democratic Party is all about.
Crooks in POWER and they're running the scams that ruin the cities government.
Remember Vote for Bill Dahn !
How about East Side? Where is CitySt.Paul getting all this Money or Bonded Indebtness?
