Do You Trust Politicians at
Election Time?

They Make Promises that they never intend to Keep.

They act as if they are your
Best friend.

Then they start asking for contributions for their campaign.

When they get elected all the promises are just hot air speeches that they needed your help to "WIN".

Why?

A Best Friend would Do Anything for each other.

Don't get money off you friends to further you wealth, that "Best Friend" thing is over at that point.

They Get To Keep What Ever Money is left in the Campaign Fund After The "Election"!

The thing I see about "elections" is that "money talks"!

What is always so impressive with the Republicans is that when they are in power they spend and borrow and cut taxes on the wealthiest. Then when the Democrats take over and there are these huge deficits from the Republican spend and borrow policies and the Democrats have to clean them up by raising taxes, the Democrats are blamed.

Its a great system. Clinton had to fix the huge deficit of Reagan and turns over a surplus to Bush, who hands over a collapsed financial system to Obama.

Why are we in the financial mess that we are?

Two wars that have not been paid for. Bush kept both wars out of the budget as emergency spending off of the balance sheet total deficit spending.

Then massive tax cuts for the rich, again more deficit spending.

Add to that the deregulation of the banking industry and turning the regulation of the financial industry over foxes themselves made for worst ponzi schemes as approved practices. The house of cards were destined to fall because there was no one making sure the game was on the up and up.

And of course the other big lie in the financial mortgage mess was to blame it all on Freddy and Fannie (FHLMC/FNMA). Why this is such a wonderful big lie is that the pressure was put on Fannie and Freddy to buy the mortgages that the lenders were already creating.

Fannie and Freddie were created by the Federal government to buy mortgages from banks so that the banks would have more money to lend. Once the banks sell the note they have the cash to lend again. When banks were in hyper drive in the lending business the pressure was put on Fannie and Freddie to losen their policies on the paper they would buy. Hell, they even had the Democrat in congress thinking that Fannie and Freddie were to tight on their policies and got them to push to let the little guy get a mortgage. So, when the mortgage schemes fall apart and everyone is caught with their hands in the cookie jar, who do the banks blame? Fannie and Freddy for buying their paper.... the paper they chose to write, never were required to write.

Great schemes.

Chuck, were so sick and tired of you republican and democrats blaming each other for the fucking mess you get this country into.

If not for the fact that both parties leave us Americans little choice but to vote for either of the assnine parties mentioned here, we could probably get some other party in there that is willing to stop this madness and get our country on the right trac economically and repair our standing in the world as a country that used to stand for good will and a leader in Human rights.

Right now, we are right in there with China and North Korea as far as human rights violations when you consider the ignorance for which we are fronting this no win so called war against terrorism.

We have more deaths and crimminal activity in our own country with the drugs and vandals that we should really be fighting the wars at home and not in the middle east.

BUT, you republicans and democrats are too caught up in your
fairytale mother goose world of make believe that this idea of placing a democracy form of government in the middle east is going to solve the worlds problems and make a utopia of a part the world that historically has been what it has been for thousands of years.

Get your heads out of your asses please.

Jeff - what a joke.

Another one of the brilliant moves of the right that I only wish I had thought of, is to increase the lack of interest and disdain for politics.

Remember this of all of the wealth in this country:
The top 1% = 34.3% of the wealth
The next 19% = 50.3% of the wealth (84.6% between the two)
The bottom 80% = 15.45% of the wealth

So, if the fat cats and right wing friends of the wealthy can get you to tune out of politics and not see the difference between the two parties, then the fat cats win.

Because the fat cats vote. Almost every wealth person in this country votes 100% of the time. But we have to pull teeth to get the poor to vote and maybe they do every 4 years or so.

The wealthy need to convince you that it is in your best interest to vote against your best interest. That it is a bad thing for the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes. That it is a bad thing to have a government regulate the behaviors of the factory owners and land barons.

Look right now they have broke dicks advocating that they themselves not get health care coverage and that they should not have social security because it will turn them into commies.... Begging for the government to destroy theirs and their neighbors safety net of protection.

To get people to be that turned around as to advocate for the rich and powerful against their own health and security is a tough assignment.

Failing that, if they can just get you to not see that it makes a difference and do nothing they are ahead of the game.

Chuck, for one, I am not removed from politics. I may not know more about the subject than others but I know enough to see that this two party dominated system is nothing more than a shared monoply where both parties are in a constant state of tugg of war . Thats the republicans and democrats on one end of the rope trying to pull the rest of us into the mudd.

Millions of Americans share my exact views.

It's the republican and democrats own fault for causing the contempt and scorn they have brought upon themselves . Rightly deserved I might add.

Republicans and democrats have been playing roulette with the way they tax Americans for too long now and if only they would turn the weapon on themseves to know how it feels when you sign a stimulus bill that has increased the national debt so high, those of us that are alive and just born to see it signed into law will never see it paid off by the time we are dead.

You democrats did that. With a little help from republicans.

Your trying to convince me that I am being lured away from my interest in politics because of some witchy trick or spell put on by republicans is just a continuation of how you and your democrats operate. Republicans too.

You have righfully pegged me as a true undecided voter and wish for me to join your battalion of tax spend bafoons.

Untill I see a real candidate with a solid plan for getting out of this mess, I am voting for no one and I will sit back on the eve of election results, get drunk and laugh at the rest of the Americans who voted to keep either of the parties in office.

Try it once Chuck. Don't vote for once in your life and take pride in knowing that you didn't vote for
a failed political system comprised of Republicans and Democrats that has been the ass of this great country for too long now.

I've noticed you have done some good thing Chuck to help build our communities and I especially and proud to see how the Phalen area around Maryland is looking a little better these days with the new cub and other buisnesses and the nice condo apartments next to it.

But, until we get another party in to weed out the ol system of republicans and democrats hell bent on taxing and spending and making us the asses of the world. I am just going to sit back and wait for the right party to come along.

How much would you pay me to vote for your party ? It's the only way your gonna get it.

Jeff -- Chuck only cares about the Democrats and not the people of this country.

Lets see how much he cares about the elderly people in the "New" Sholom Nursing Home on W 7th and Otto Streets?

He don't care because its not him

or his Ma ma, if that was the case he would be in the face of his long time "friend" Dave Thune bitching about the land is still in litigation for another 2-3 years -- according to Kathy Lantry and I have a tape message saying that.

So if they are old and Jewish they don't count to their own people who were in such a rush to make a buck that it doesn't matter how they make it, or they are the most heartless people on earth.

I found all out what I need to know about Sandy Pappas, Norm Coleman, Chris Coleman, Dave Thune, and

Like I said Jeff when you opt out of the process the fat cats win.

I get such a chuckle out of the right wing making such a big thing out of deficit spending for the Stimulus to try and save the country from bankruptcy, when they almost destroyed the country by financing two wars totally on the credit card and massive tax cuts for the wealthy.

Bill you live off of my tax dollars and yet you advocate the election of the party who's goal for you is that you don't get your meds, you don't get housing assistance and you get no medical coverage... so, that I can pay less taxes.

Bill I have a hundred dollars for your favorite cause if you can show me one tax return where you ever had to pay any income taxes.

I on the other hand pay 35% of my income in taxes and advocate that you should have a decent place to live, food in your stomach and clothes on you back, because I know that it is through no fault of your own that you are like you are.

My view of my responsibilities to my fellow man are not currently popular or politically correct. It is popular now to condemn the homeless, the sick, the immigrant, the less educated, the drug addict and those that are down on their luck.

Listen to the people at the Tea Party rallies and how they view the world in us/them and how they want to keep every little piece of theirs to themselves and condemn the politician that wants to make sure you have a place to sleep.

That is what all this anger is about. They have fired up the public that the government wants to take it from the middle class and give to the poor. Never mind that the Dem's want to take it from the upper 20% and leave the middle class alone. Read Joe S today he is doing the same attack on Dayton. Don't take from us that make over $135,000 a year, we are the productive ones.... let the poor starve.

The fat cats have to love it.

There you go again Chuck. Your spinning this away from the truth of the matter, because democrats are the ones who love to tax the hard working people to pay for illegal immigration and all that we provide as an incentive to keep it going.

It's perhalps the democrats biggest claim to fame in this game of tax and spend.

Both democrats and republicans that voted to take our soldiers into what they call a war, unilateraly agreed to spend billions for a conflict we either could afford or where the loss of life has been worth the effort.

The tea party movement is right Chuck.

Since the working poor pay the least amount of taxes, who else can we tax other than the middle class ? I assume thats you Chuck since your paying 35% put's you in the middle class.

Glad to see your willing to tax your self because when it's all said and done, you tax corporations, they are going to pass the buck to the employees and the price of goods and services.

We as an entire population will bear the brunt of it no matter who gets in.

But I don't hear the democrats saying their going to shrink Government either.

Ok, we can tax the corporations
( the rich as we can call them ) that employ the middle class that pay for the poor unemployed, and all the other wasteful social programs that promote self worthlessnes, provide incentive for illegal immigration, so on and so forth.

Now, we have so many non working, illegals sucking from the Government money troughs and getting free medical care thats tapping out the treasury, Obama and friends decided that lets just leave illegal immigration reform alone , let them be here and let the middle class pick up the tab.

After all, it's better to have someone else pay then to have to draw more from the treasury.

Bottom line Chuck, your beliefs and what democrats propose to tax the upper 20%, is just a subtefuge to make us believe that in some way, your protecting the middle class that pay most taxes .

You democrats always promise the middle class this and that to get elected then you get in office, the kickbacks come in the mail and you renigg on your promises to the people.

It's all a mother fucking game.

Hence this is what Bill is saying.

And I am saying it too.

Jeff Matiatos

1:57 PM

No, what the democrats want to do is take from the middle class to pay for this massive joke of a health care bill that's real intent is to consolidate the medical expences of all the illegals in this country too offset the deficit in the treasury.

You know dam well that any democrats attempts to tax the upper 20% disportionatley will just trickle down to the middle class anyways through company closures, lost wages, the hiring of illegals willing to take a cut in pay etc.

You try and put the upper 20% in a corner Chuck, and see what happens. Watch your political funding go out the door too.

How would it feel to run a campaign with less kickbacks ?

Your so full of hot air.

You democrats will tell the middle class just what you want them to hear if you think it will get you elected then pull the rug out from underneath once your in.

This is what Bill is saying and so am I.

Ok, just having learned that Obama ( according to news reports ) supports extending the tax cut's of the Bush administration, I will amend the spirit of my argument against the democrat's that are in line with this.

However, clearly were running a deficit as never before and it's coming from the expenditures from the wars, bailouts to corporations, Health and Human Services budget, Social Security, unemployment leading to less federal taxes being taken in, and illegal immigration taxing the treasury.

Additionally, there is alot of pork still being doled out to the states to pay for excessive pet projects we don't need. In turn, cities are mismanaging the way they provide services to the people and corruption has erroded public confidence.

ow you get me a candidate thats willing to address these issue and many more, I'll vote.

I have no idea what you do Jeff or if you can get your head around this or not, but the biggest problem of the health care plan is that it didn't go far enough.

We are the only industrialized country on the planet that does not have national health care.

It is making our businesses non-competitive with foreign businesses because the price of health care is figured into your taxes in other countries but here every business either has to offer health care as a part of salary or every employee has to pay for their own insurance.

I am 56 years old and am covered as a part of a small business with 3 employees that get medical coverage (pretty typical of other small businesses that have 3 full time and then some part time employees). The health care plan costs $13,200 a year for me. No dental, no major med, just health care with Health Partners.

That is what is destroying small businesses. They can't afford those kind of payments and pay salary as well.

So, buy the fat cats bull shit that Obama care is for immigrants or any other bull shit that the fat cat want to feed you, but the real issue is that this country can't afford to have a health insurance industry that's entire purpose is to make money rationing health care.

You tell me what positive thing the health insurance industry does? It takes my money to pay my doctor and keeps a percentage for itself. What a great scheme.

All national health insurance would do is take out the rich sons of a bitches that are operating the health insurance racket and stealing 15% of the money off of the top.

There is absolutely no reason that the Feds couldn't take less money to provide the same service except that the fat cats are going to tell you that government can't do it as well.

Do what as well??? Skim 15% off of the top? Because that is exactly what is the purpose of the health insurance industry and exactly what the fat cat have convinced you to protect.

And, I know that some GOP'er will now say that SSI and Medicare are going broke, well DUH... they go broke because you can't get the government to increase the rates when costs go up... but my health insurance company raises the rates every freaking year.

You do know that once people start making over $110,000 they no longer have to put any money into SSI don't you? That is a 15% tax break for those above $100K.

But just listen to them fat cats that aren't having to pay that 15% on 90% of that million dollar pay check tell you that the poor is the problem and that we need to go after those evil Democrats that want to raise the wealthy's taxes.

So you think that going with the government plan for universal health care is going to drop your premiums ?

Well according to recent reports, this new bill will raise taxes by over 569 billion.

Create harsh penalties for buisnesses thats can't afford health care for employees.

And, this bill was created primarily from democrats with virtually no input from republicans. Why not chuck ?

This is just the tip of the iceberg of why this bill is so wrong.

Not to mention all the government intrusions into your personal life having access to your bank accounts and financial records.

Sounds like were creating the KGB or something Chuck and being watched by J. Edgar Hoover.

lol Jeff you have to be kidding me.

What was left of the bill was pretty much what the Republicans had proposed as an alternative to Hillary Care back in 1993-4.

What passed was what Republicans first proposed 18 years ago. There wasn't "no consultation with the Republicans" this was the stuff that Grassley from Iowa was advocating when the Democrats were wanting real health care reform.

This is almost 100% what Grassley and Hatch and McCain and Lugar and Stone and Collins had said was what was going to be the only thing that would be acceptable to the Republicans until the Democrats caved and supported it.

The Democrats wimped out. No balls at all. They thought they were compromising and all they were doing was caving.

Here is a quick history of health care reform in the last 40 years.

In 72 Ted Kennedy proposed national health insurance and Nixon and the GOP will only accept a "blended system" with a public option. The Democrats won't take the deal and nothing passes.

In 93-94 Clinton proposed what Nixon had suggested a blended system of health insurance and a public option. The GOP opposed it and suggested that instead the government could assist the poor in buying health care coverage.

This year the House passed a watered down version of the Clinton plan with a public option and the Senate passed what was what the Republicans had said they would agree to.

We got what was the GOP bill with no votes from the GOP.

google Grassley and see what the leadership of the GOP was for before they were against it.

You pay enough in medicare premiums now so at least you should be entitled to die with dignity and get a few rounds of kemo.

Otherwise, it's all trumped up and I see no promoting of society in taking better care of themselves because it's Government that feeds off the taxes that are raised when people consume ciggs and alchohol that create all these health problems in the first place.
