Scott Wendell is accused of smashing the inmate's head against a wall. The pair were apparently acquaintances.

A St. Paul police officer has been charged with felony assault after he allegedly smashed a man's head against a jail-cell wall last November.

Scott D. Wendell, 45, of Columbus, is accused of assaulting Luke D. Prescott, 28, immediately after warning Prescott to stay away from his stepdaughter or family, according to a Ramsey County District Court complaint filed Friday.

Wendell went to the Ramsey County jail while off-duty Nov. 2 after colleagues told him they'd taken Prescott into custody, and that Wendell's stepdaughter was with Prescott at the time.

Officer Matthew Onnen told authorities he saw Wendell push Prescott into the back wall of the cell, and that Onnen walked away thinking, "I didn't want to be part of this," the complaint said. Onnen said he returned to find Prescott in a pool of blood on the cell floor.

Prescott sustained a 4-inch cut to the back of his head that required 12 staples to close. The victim's mother, LeAnn Tonn, has said Prescott was handcuffed at the time.

When informed of the assault charge Friday, Tonn said: "That's awesome. And it's about time."

She has said her son had been friends with the stepdaughter and her boyfriend, and at one time had bought a car from Wendell.

Prescott could not be reached to comment. He's been on the run, his mother said Friday, fearful of what might happen to him if he were to turn himself in on an unrelated burglary charge.

Paul Gustafson, a spokesman for the Ramsey County Attorney's Office, said that a warrant was issued for Prescott's arrest after he failed to make a Jan. 14 court appearance.

The case against Wendell is being prosecuted by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office because of possible conflict of interest concerns in Ramsey County.

Wendell, summoned to appear in court May 21, could not be reached to comment Friday.

Crooked court will let him off just like the cop at Ogara's. No justice here in this city.

"Your Right"!
I contacted Anthony Lonetree • 612-673-4109 of the Star-Tribune and talk for about ten minutes about how I was treated in Ramsey County Jail by a few goons.

So lets all listen to someone and find others treated with such disrespect in these jails by either police or sheriff deputies.

Stop abuse, and that will stop the hatred cause by a few of these police and sheriff deputies.

I've been roughed up because I spoke out about .... that put ..... in my home.
We all might have been pushed around more then they should.
These police officers have a lot on their minds and might have had a argument with their wife, and they take it to work with them.
Don't get me wrong all people take their home life to work.
I respect law enforcement people, they have a job where you cannot make mistakes.
Most of us common people wouldn't like to carry a gun, or have to be aggressive to people you never met before.
I'm real glad that some people will put their life on the line for us, each day could be their last day.
How many people ever got the at the elevator ride at the old St.Paul Police Station?
That is when they stop the elevator between floor and beat you a little before the book you.

I didn't write that. I sign everything I post here. Everything. I have gone after Bill in the past and see no reason to be anonymous. I stand behind what I say/said.

Discrediting Bill is a job Bill is best at himself.

My Thanks to God for Governor Tim Pawlenty, for giving the thumbs down to Chris Coleman idea for
THE POND aka ICE RINK.
The Mayors idea to spend money on a useless item that dose not benefit all people in St.Paul, and only would hire union workers.
Chris has to remember that St.Paul has more then one political party.
The people that pay taxes in St.Paul don't care for Chris Coleman's idea of spending.
This is election year Chris, I though you were smarter then that!

Again some one is bad mouthing Bill, put up or shut up.
There were enough people that were in Bill's home to speak out about what that company did to his home, including Dean Barkley a
U S Senator and
Jesse Ventura a Minnesota Governor.
There were many people that tried to speak for Bill, after that bad work they did on his place.
It sure took a tool on his health while he live there.
The book says he stuttered severely, that must have been tough to communicate for him at that time.
He speaks will now, and he doesn't stutter at all.
I see homes in St.Paul with condemned signs on them, Bill's place had sewer gases coming in it from some other work done by RAP's people.
His place sould have been condemned until that problem was fixed.
I seen that on his web site www.billdahn.com --
under homestead, read the litter sent to Dean Barlkey at the Minnesota State Capital, and watch the video of Jesse and Dean Barkley.
Comment on who is lacking brains in the video that Dean is the cameraman.

Eric, I have to call you out on this one.

You always claim to post using your name ?

How about your post(S) at 3:30 a.m., 1:05 a.m., " WTF " ?

Your post at 7:20 says different.

Brain farts again huh ?

Not me.

Again, read my direct hits on Bill. They are worse than this and I sign, Is it so hard to believe that someone else doesn't give Bill the time of day.

We did both use 'wtf'. However, Bill and Sharon causes a lot of people to say wtf. However, I find just one question mark is enough to get my point across.

Try again- while you're at, look post in the past I written, you should be able to find about 1000 of them. Look at the style and syntax Columbo.

Finally, I'm reading through these and it appears that the irony s that Bill is writing posts in support of his previous post. I'm trying not to pick on him because I know he is borderline. And, I'm in a site where someone like Bill is given credibility when discussing anything.

No thanks.

With the exception of Eric, I think most of this thread is Bill Dahn going back and forth with himself. While you are at it Bill......why don't you poll yourself a few hundred times so we can see where people stand on having you as their Mayor? Are you going to have people dressed up in inflatable bags to look like insulation packages and have them walking around downtown with sandwich signs on them promoting you as a candidate? Or perhaps walking gobs of formardahyde hollering political sound bites into a bullhorn?

Officer Wendell is accused of pushing a low life and the poor guy bumped his head.

I see no problem here. The guy, Luke D. Prescott didn't keep his mouth shut. Some people just don't get it. Luke needs to man up and change his ways.

Officer Wendell is just protecting his family. No crime here.
