This info is interesting. Obama supporters need to do some research…to say the least.

TIME IS NEAR!!!! SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS!!!!

Subject: OBAMAMANIA!! VERY INTERESTING

To All My Friends, this is long, but very important, please take the time to read it. This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind three times since than. I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with.

About six months ago, I started thinking 'where did the money come from for Obama'? I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama's life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental
in California . He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. 'Barry' (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan .

During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a 'round the world' trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indone sia , next Hyderabad in India , three weeks in Karachi , Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family. My question - 'Where did
he get the money for this trip?' Neither I nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they were in college.

When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York . It is at this time he wanted everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia ? It's not cheap! to sa y the least. Where did he get money
for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe.

After Columbia , he went to Chicago to work as a
Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago ? Why not New
York ? He was already living in New York .

By 'chance' he met Antoin 'Tony' Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria , and a real estate developer in Chicago . Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named 'Entrepreneur of the Decade' by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association'.

About two years la ter, Obama entered Harvard Law School . Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School ? Where did he get the money for Law School ? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago . Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented 'Rezar' which
is Rezko's firm. Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial
contributors when he ran for office in Chicago .

In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for
Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with 'seed money' for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than the asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born
Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President.
Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was
Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz , Iran !
Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert
Malley advisor to Obama was 'sacked' after the press found out he was having regular contacts with 'Hamas', which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran .

This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq ,
he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will 'Take care of things'.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that were born in Pakistan ? They are in charge of all those 'small' Internet campaign contributions for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East ?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on 'This Week' with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, 'My Muslim faith'. When questioned, 'he make a
mistake'. Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama;
Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in
1981; The Washington
Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this
information on my own, why haven't all of our 'intelligent' members of the press been r eporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - 'Beware of the enemy from within'!!!

hobitingNo different than Bushes ties with
Ahmed Chalabi.

How about Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam.

How about arms (and legs) to Iran for hostages .

If this government really thought if what was true here about Obama constituted a threat to national security, rest assured there might be an assanitaion just like what they did with Kennedy.

Or did the mob shoot Kennedy ?

Obama isn't stupid enough to risk his life taking risks that would threaten national security.

Most of our politicians have rubbed elbows, and shook hands with our enemys before.

Rest assured, CIA, and Secret Service has this information has
screened Obama.

The question I have in light of this post is if this here is true, can Obama be disqualified from even running for president or
can any body with questionable ties with our enemys and terrorists
countrys run for president ?

In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than the asking price). On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price.

---------

What is better than that is that the "adjoining lot" wasn't just "adjoining" it was fenced in as a part of Obama's property for the next two years. It had always been a part of that property (Rezko is the first person to have a seperate title) and at Obama to this day maintains that he didn't know that Rezko was who bought it, when they closed the same day and he could not buy his house if the lot wasn't selling at the same time.

Right before Obama announced for president Rezko sold him a ten foot section of the land so that Obama's driveway would be a part of Obama's property.

To this day the only way you can get onto the land the was Rezko's (his lawyer now owns it) is through Obama's. There is no gate in the fence in the section Rezko bought.

First, Bob- just go and erase the word truth from your website. This grist mill is nothing but a posting board for the most off the mark stuff someone can find. Blogging for the stupid.

What the fuck kind of American are you printing a guilt by association rant with no substance at all to it? Country first my ass. So, Bob tell us how many people you hung around with are now in jail or should be? How does that affect you? Are you a criminal that should be watched by the cops and lawyers constantly?

Second, maybe Mr McIntyre should have spent more time with his daughters helping them with their studies. Obama had academic scholarships and a few student loans to Columbia and Harvard. He worked three years before going to Harvard. He graduated at the top of his class from both schools and all of this is public record. Its only for the ignorant at this point to believe.

Third, student travel all over all the time. I'm surprised how many go back forth to Europe. All of us went Mexico every year. When you're willing to eat like crap, drink beer, put all of your shit in backpacks and live in hostels and with strangers, its pretty cheap.

Fourth, Rezco never loaned Obama any money. The court case proved that. The money from the home- just three years ago, came from the sale of his books. They said it themselves, five years ago, they didn't have that kind of money. Which is at odds to what most Americans would have done. If you had a couple making a household income of about 250 thousand, they would have bought a million dollar house- especially in the early 2000's. The Obama's waited for the book money to come in and paid off both of their student loans from Harvard and Princeton (both graduated in the top of their classes- money well spent), then bought a bigger house. They still only own one car.

Those are my answers off of what I know. I'll post what the myth busters wrote about this next.

Claim: Barack Obama's education and house were paid for with money obtained from questionable sources.

Status: False.

Origins: The above-quoted piece combines a good deal of supposition and some elaborate conspiracy theory to question exactly where Senator Barack Obama obtained the money for his education and the purchase of a house in Chicago in 2005. The answers are fairly straightforward.

As both Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, have noted many times, they paid for their educations via scholarships and student loans, in the process (like many people) incurring debts which were not fully paid off until many years later. (In the Obamas' case, it was largely the revenue derived from Barack's pair of best-selling books that finally allowed them to retire their student loan debts.)

Likewise, the Obamas' financing of their house in Chicago was no mystery. The couple experienced a significant jump in income from 2000 onwards (largely from royalties on book sales), and they purchased their Chicago home in 2005, a year in which their combined income was $1.6 million:

The Obamas' best financial year came in 2005, when their total combined income was $1.6 million. That included $1.2 million in author fees for Obama's best-selling books. Michelle Obama's salary that year [as vice president for community and external affairs at the University of Chicago Hospitals] was $316,962 plus another $45,000 from TreeHouse Foods [for whom she served a member of the board of directors].

The copies of the Obamas' federal tax returns made available on the Obama campaign web site show that the couple had an adjusted gross income of $207,647 in 2004, $1,655,106 in 2005, and $983,826 in 2006.

It is true that Rita Rezko bought an undeveloped lot adjacent to the Obamas' home and subsequently sold the Obamas a small portion of that lot, but the Rezkos did not help the Obamas pay for their house, and the sellers say the Obamas got no special treatment:

In June 2005, Obama and Rezko purchased adjoining parcels in Kenwood. The state's junior senator paid $1.65 million for a Georgian revival mansion, while Rezko paid $625,000 for the adjacent, undeveloped lot. Both closed on their properties on the same day.

In January [2006], aiming to increase the size of his sideyard, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.

When the Chicago Sun-Times questioned Senator Obama about the details of his home purchase, he responded as follows:

Q: How do you explain the fact your family purchased your home the same day as Rita Rezko bought the property adjacent to yours? Was this a coordinated purchase?

A: The sellers required the closing of both properties at the same time. As they were moving out of town, they wished to conclude the sale of both properties simultaneously. The lot was purchased first; with the purchase of the house on the adjacent lot, the closings could proceed and did, on the same day, pursuant to the condition set by the sellers.

Q: Why is it that you were able to buy your parcel for $300,000 less than the asking price, and Rita Rezko paid full price? Who negotiated this end of the deal? Did whoever negotiated it have any contact with Rita and Tony Rezko or their Realtor or lawyer?

A: Our agent negotiated only with the seller's agent. As we understood it, the house had been listed for some time, for months, and our offer was one of two and, as we understood it, it was the best offer. The original listed price was too high for the market at the time, and we understood that the sellers, who were anxious to move, were prepared to sell the house for what they paid for it, which is what they did.

We were not involved in the Rezko negotiation of the price for the adjacent lot. It was our understanding that the owners had received, from another buyer, an offer for $625,000 and that therefore the Rezkos could not have offered or purchased that lot for less.

I can answer that sir.....he's the same kind of American you are when you make charges about the ricomen when you don't even know anything about them.

6:16 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Making charges on people based on their practices is not the same a guilt by association.

This country has a long history of being wary of guilt by association and when we condoned it, it was always a bad thing (Red Scare and Committee on Un-American activities).

Hell, the First Amendment of the Constitution gives you right to assemble or associate with anyone.

The RICOmen put themselves in the situation to be labeled as slumlords when they, actually filed suit with at least one slumlord.

They also pushed the guilt by association bullshit by casting a wide net of allegations of entire departments in the city (hence RICO) and county courts. The posters on here for the most part have pushed it to ANYONE who works for the city, county or is involved in the DFL. Not being able to name specific names to specific deeds- that's un-American.

Regardless, this guilt be association rumor that Bob is trying to pass on is now officially FAIL.

Thanks for playing.

Barack Obama is going to be our next President! He is our best hope for the future of our nation.

McCant and Playin are complete idiots and they get stupider by the moment. I am amazed at the desperate measures they are taking--like the chain email posted by william.

Party loyaly is fine. But we have to use some of our God given common sense for crying out loud. Everyone knows that McCains running mate is NOT qualified to run this country in the event that something happens to McCain heaven forbid. She has never read the Constitution and is unfit to be vice president too. Until he became the nominee I liked and respected mcCain. But choosing the idiot he did for a running mate sent up a big red flag, as it should for ALL Americans, regardless of party.

Bob, you're dancing around this and that's your choice. A few months ago you were trying to convince us that this is one of the most read blogs in the world (lol) and its on a 'truth seeking mission'.

Chuck and I have been skewered on here for challenging some of these posts on allegations- most of which have been proven to be made up too, so I guess this type of post is not too surprising.

If you are not going to stand by the stuff YOU post on YOUR blog, then save the truth talk and don't get so indignant when this place is labeled a 'lounge for those who frequent the tin foil headwear shops.'

Unlike some of other pieces people give you, like who at the city did what to them, this is rumor that was easily busted as a myth. Unless you want or need to believe something negative about Obama's success.

I haven't seen you post anything about McCain on here. His lies, his cheating, his 44 flip flops, he dumb 'party-first' pick for VP, nothing.

Name one racist thing Obama's former preacher said?

Unless your parents are first cousins, this post by Bob has been proven false to everyone.

If that's your reasoning, you've really been out of it and reall weren't going to vote for Obama ever, anyway.

Mark,
If this blog was about conversation and commentary that would be different. This blog, according to the owner, claims to be on a truth seeking mission. I find however, quite often its on mission to complain about everything these posters don't understand.

Randy,
What specifically would like to see? Bi-partisanship? National Security? Reform? Leadership?

What kind of accomplishments would you like to see?

Why after two years of running are you just now looking for this? Its three days before the election. It really won't make a difference with you, will it? You saw what he looked like and immediately wrote him off.

Eric Bob isn't running for president and you shouldn't back someone because they have the same skin color as you.

Bob was criticized for publishing easily checked rumors.

You accuse that I'm voting for Obama because he's black?
That's insulting on many levels. First as DFL Party Officer, you'd think I would back the Democrat. Every white party officer is given the benefit of doubt but I separate from that pack because I'm black?

That's a very douche-baggy thing to say. You see dozens of DFLers who back the Democrats in every election and you see the black one and single that person out as supporting the black candidate for lesser reasons than his party ideology? Sounds like racist bullshit.

Do you go apeshit when conservative Christian voters support born again candidates, like Bush, because he is one of them or has experienced what they have? NO.

Do you get angry when women get fired up for women candidates on both sides aisle whether they be conservative hockey moms, or liberal soccer moms?

What about when republicans like Kline had all of that military support because he is a Marine? I bet you didn't get so indignant over that?

What about all the catholics that came out for Reagan, many who had been Democrats previously. Did you speak up about those 'Reagan Democrats' as supporting him because of their religious affiliation?

No but, its a different rule for blacks in your mind right? They aren't allowed to support someone who looks like them without having to be harassed by the bigots.

You're weak.

Anyway here's the facts on the black vote:

In 1964 LBJ received 94% of the black vote. That's the record.
In more modern times, here's the numbers:
1984 Walter Mondale 90% Ronald Reagan 9%
1988 Michael Dukakis 90% George H.W. Bush 10%
1992 Bill Clinton 83% George H.W. Bush 10%
1996 Bill Clinton 84% Bob Dole 12%
2000 Al Gore 90% George W. Bush 9%
2004 John Kerry 92% George W. Bush 7%

So, off the back you can see that in Presidential elections blacks go for the Democratic candidate more than 8 out of 10 times. Obama is only increasing support by single digits.

In 2007 at different times, CNN, Time, NPR and several columnists wrote about Obama not being black enough and therefor lagging in black support. He was getting one-third of the support Hillary Clinton had.

In that time, he earned the vote with blacks, whites, young voters and seniors by putting forth an agenda they'd like to see.

If you are unfamiliar with any it this close to the election, you have no interest it. Go cast your uninformed vote for McCain on Tuesday and enjoy your pea soup Tuesday night.

Sir with all due respect tell me some of Baracks accomplishments in the senate.

Randy

There is no respect in your question. You can easily go to his website and see what he's done. All politicians brag about their success on the websites.

Anyway in the state Senate in Illinois and the United States Senate he has a record that show he has had the right priorities. The state senate is important because his district was a bit bigger than the population of Alaska and most Congressional districts.

Obama passed legislation with Republican Senator Jim Talent to give gas stations a tax credit for installing E85 ethanol refueling pumps. The tax credit covers 30 percent of the costs of switching one or more traditional petroleum pumps to E85, which is an 85 percent ethanol/15 percent gasoline blend.

-After a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

-His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent.

-Obama created the Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit for low-income working families in 2000 and successfully sponsored a measure to make the credit permanent in 2003. The law offered about $105 million in tax relief over three years.

-Obama joined forces with former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL) to pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned gifts from lobbyists. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.

-As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan.

-He traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world.

-Obama has been a leading advocate for protecting the right to vote, helping to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act and leading the opposition against discriminatory barriers to voting.

- In the U.S. Senate, Obama introduced the STOP FRAUD Act to increase penalties for mortgage fraud and provide more protections for low-income homebuyers, well before the current subprime crisis began.

-Obama sponsored legislation to combat predatory payday loans, and he also was credited with lobbied the state to more closely regulate some of the most egregious predatory lending practices.

-Barack Obama introduced the Patriot Employer Act of 2007 to provide a tax credit to companies that maintain or increase the number of full-time workers in America relative to those outside the US; maintain their corporate headquarters in America; pay decent wages; prepare workers for retirement; provide health insurance; and support employees who serve in the military.

-Obama worked to pass a number of laws in Illinois and Washington to improve the health of women. His accomplishments include creating a task force on cervical cancer, providing greater access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, and helping improve prenatal and premature birth services.

-Obama has introduced and helped pass bipartisan legislation to limit the abuse of no-bid federal contracts.

-Obama and Senator Feingold (D-WI) took on both parties and proposed ethics legislation that was described as the "gold standard" for reform. It was because of their leadership that ending subsidized corporate jet travel, mandating disclosure of lobbyists' bundling of contributions, and enacting strong new restrictions of lobbyist-sponsored trips became part of the final ethics bill that was signed into law.

Taxes.

Bottom line, 95% of working Americans will get a tax cut with Obama. McCain is focused on the wealthier classes to get the cuts and then hopefully they will pass it down. If you make less than 200,000 you will get a tax cut. If you make between 200 and 250 thousand, you will see no change. If you make more than 250 thousand a year, you pay the same tax rate you did under Clinton.

Still not convinced? The independent Center for Tax Policy ranks Obama plan superior over McCain.

That have a site where you can see who's plan will save you more:
Obama versus McCain tax calculator

If only those of you who say taxes is your issue would vote that issue Obama will with 80% of the vote.

Eric, I am getting a little disturbed with your persistence in running me and this forum down.

You have absolutely NOT proven this forum isn't popular. IT IS, and you know it, this is your concern, and the reason you participate here Eric. In my opinion in-spite of what you proclaim, I believe you are one of those folks who would like to see the blue collar masses stay focused on their jobs, and families, not vote and leave the business of governing our city in the hands of a few egg heads who think they know what is best for all of us. It is well known Eric you are a mover and shaker in local DFL politics. In my perfect world the LIBERTARIAN PARTY would come to power and clean the mess up made by Democrats and Republicans.

My ambition for this forum is to keep it entertaining and interesting enough for folks who normally wouldn't take the time to attend a district council meeting our community meeting to discuss issues or "vent" here. Venting is therapeutic. And heaven knows many folks here are REAL pissed off at the city.

I and many others have taken a great deal of time building interest in this forum. A Democracy has been linked hundreds of times at twincities.com
and else where. There has been thousands of WATCHDOG NEWSPAPERS distributed with links to A DEMOCRACY. I know this for a fact I was responsible for distributing the WATCHDOG in Saint Paul for a year. In the past I have published a news letter "A Democracy News Letter" and distributed thousands to citizens door steps.

UNFORTUNATELY, this is not a forum in which a citizen can post at will for themselves. They have to ask me to post for them. For me to keep this forum interesting I have to stick to my beliefs and be inclusive of everyone's opinion. Even those who wish to remain anonymous. Most folks do not have the character to speak publicly with their identity or even anonymously for that matter. I am more than happy to help them over come their fears and post for them.

Eric, it is time for some community activism. You have awaken the "BARKING DOGS" in my BACKYARD sounding the alert for a disturbance in the neighborhood. For your consistent disdain for me and this forum, I have decided I would hit you with some GORILLA MARKETING and distribute the "A DEMOCRACY NEWS LETTER" 5000 deep in your neighborhood inviting your neighbors to see what a travisty their district council and city is in. I will make a title post when this goes down this week.

Now, I just have to put together a few disturbing stories about your neighborhood Eric. I have a couple on deck I just need to compose them. SO, if anyone else out there has a story for the A Democracy News Letter send it to me compliments of Eric. I can only pick one since I have limited space. This is a news letter.

Hey Bob, I'm not involved with the District Council. You're still falling short on facts in your 'truth seeking mission'.

So according to you:
In my opinion in-spite of what you proclaim, I believe you are one of those folks who would like to see the blue collar masses stay focused on their jobs, and families, not vote and leave the business of governing our city in the hands of a few egg heads who think they know what is best for all of us.

Really?
Bob, I have run GOTV programs to turn out thousands of people. Tuesday, I'll be working as part of the Voter Protection Team who's only job to be sure citizens who show up to vote are able to vote. I have raised money, spent money, and donated to programs that send voting information out the to masses but, mostly in precincts where voter turnout has been low where people have not been engaged. Poor and minority areas to get them to the polls. I've done that for 12 years in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Ohio.

Another great assumption on your behalf. How that truth seeking mission going?

So, you set this up for people to vent? When people say things you don't like, you threaten them by saying you're going to litter the neighborhood with your rag?
I say deliver it. Its a poorly written, factually challenged publication. Delivery that north of Maryland will win you few supporters.

Speaking of North of Maryland, some of your Nazi fans spray painted swastikas on the Obama signs in my neighborhood.

Looks like if you can locate the people, you'll build your support up with more haters of free speech. Hell, just haters.

You know I don't care about your threats Bob.

You try to weasel out of either being a Republican or being a Republican tool with your libertarian talk. Have you changed or corrected any of the republican posts you put up when the facts are revealed? No, you haven't.
In three years, how many lies on Republicans have you put up and left up, even after truth got out?

How many?

You've done it twice in two weeks here. And, instead of being a responsible person and correcting the information, you go after the person who corrected you. Very Bush like of you.

Eric you say I threatened you. lol Thanks for proving my point.

I will repeat the alleged threat you speak of in my earlier post at 12:12 pm so folks can see where you are coming from.

The alleged threat to Eric from my 12:12 comment;

Follow up;

I also made this statement at 12:12 speaking of Eric.

I believe you are one of those folks who would like to see the blue collar masses stay focused on their jobs, and families, not vote and leave the business of governing our city in the hands of a few egg heads who think they know what is best for all of us.

*So Eric, you prove my point. It is offensive and threatening to you that I would invite 5000 Saint Paul blue collar citizens to come here and join us for a discussion.

I up that number to 7000.

Ken- again, you have issues with conservative policies. This thread were talking about federal issues. Its a lot clearer at that level and I don't support any asshole that doesn't support policies the focus on the needs of the poor and undeserved. It appears we are heading – again – into a large victory for the democrats on Tuesday. It is possible the democrats gain a filibuster proof senate and then Frank, Pelosi and Obama will have no one but the supreme court to balance them out.

I suspect Eric and the DFLers consider this a great victory. I believe the Democrats have designed this victory not by saying what they will do when they control, but by continuously attacking Bush and associating all elected officials to Bush. I am not complaining – I understand politics and the democrats politics appear successful. Congratulations.

The nut of Obama’s promises are: Cut taxes for everyone making less than $200K, increase spending on just about everything, balance the budget and regain international respect for America.

Fantastic. If the democrats succeed, I will become a democrat. If the democrats fail to keep their promises – when there is NO ONE to stop or even alter their plans – then the democrats are lieing to us.

Time will tell, eh?

Hey Bill, in 2000 the republicans had Congress and no one made the ridiculous argument that by electing Bush, the republicans would have complete control and possibly Supreme Court appointments. Two horribly managed wars later, low standing with our allies in the world, and the worst economy since the Great Depression approaching.

Clinton came in with a Democratic Congress and left leaning Supreme Court.

Politicians got one priority they share, getting re-elected. Obama is not dumb. IF Obama is elected, I expect the same pragmatism that help him take down the Clinton machine and run the best campaign in American history.

I expect tough but fair times.

Where was this resistance when the government redistributed our wealth upwards?

Earned Income Credit. If you know what this is, you'd know that it gives money to some who don't pay taxes. Its a Reagan program, doubled by Bush.

John McCain's health policy would redistribute 5000 dollar credits to everyone- even those who don't work and put into the system.

Sarah Palin became the most popular governor in the nation by increase the TAXES on the oil and gas companies in Alaska and giving the money to Alaskans. Every man and woman in Alaska got a check based taken from the oil and gas industry profits tax. Good conservatives would call this punishing success.

McCain supported almost a trillion dollars of taxpayers to go to private businesses that failed.

Redistributing taxes is what the government does- democrat and republican. Its not socialist and certainly isn't communist.

At the national level, many states like Alaska and Texas get much more back in services from the federal government than they put in. State like Massachusetts and New York get far less. Yet, Texas and Alaska brag about their low taxes. They are being supported by the rest of the states. The feds are redistributing our taxes unevenly.

Be smart people. Or, not. But it looks like the 'truth seeking mission' is up to me. I posted a link earlier to an independent policy institute that ranks both of the tax plans. Obama's tax plan is far better for 95% of working Americans. I assume most of you don't care to know the truth. Go to the link and see who'll give you the bigger tax break.

Obama's tax plan will do two things:
1.Give a tax cut to 95% of working Americans. 95%, 95%, 95%.
2. Roll back the tax rate to the Clinton years for those making over $250,000. More millionaires were created during the Clinton years than any other time.

Damn people, don't stay stuck on stupid.

The problem I have Eric is that Barrack said $250,000 first, then it chnaged to $200,00o and the mext thing we know either him or Obiden are talking about $150,000. What are we supposed to belive? You're in the minority and just plain ol wrong about my candidate. Anyone who read what you wrote and what I wrote can see you got a bunch name calling and charges but no proof. I've backed up everything I said. You're kind of a knee-jerk reactionary up against someone who can actually think and back up their words.

Your Joe the plumber was a republican plant from day one. It was John McCain who made him a national name at the last debate. It was the media that found out he was not a plumber, not buying that business, owed back taxes, a no good wife beater (two divorces both wives seeking shleter at a womens abuse center), AND was a republican donor who already voted.

Joe the Plumber at his income would get a bigger tax cut under Obama's plan. HAHAHA.

Now this guy that McCain has put in front of the media hired a publicist, shopping for a country music deal (Aaron Tippin is working with him), and wants a book deal. Poor Joe the Plumber.

Wake up and focus on what matters. If you're not going to vote for a democrat than just say that and let it be. Don't buy into the bs just to support your viewpoint.

Some of you are the same people that keep that Shamwow guy or Billy Mays employed.

Do ever go on your computer to research anything?

The plan has been the same for over year.

Here's where you're confused:
Between $200,000 and $250,000 there is no change. No change in the taxes they pay. $200,000 and below will see a tax cut.

So when they say if you make less than $250,000 you will not see a tax increase- its correct and consistent.

Biden took the number $150,000 based on an analogy and truthfully said they would get a tax cut.

McCain and Palin are trying to twist the words but the numbers have not changed in a year. I guess its working on some of you.

Eric

Excuse me:
Its individuals at $200,000 and families at $250,000. Below those numbers will see a tax break. Period.

According to estimates by the Tax Policy Center, 1.9 percent of tax filers declaring small business income in 2009 will be in the top-two income-tax brackets. Obama has also proposed tax cuts for small businesses, including the "Obama Small Business Health Tax Credit," a refundable credit of up to 50 percent on premiums paid by small businesses on behalf of their employees.

Sounds like socialism to me. Not.

The last one about Local Republicans being targeted was also BS. Lazy bs since in the article you printed had Amy Klobuchar as one of targets. I wrote several times in the posts that the article was updated with all of members of Congress targeted except McCollom who lives in a building.

Did you correct that? What about now, if I scroll down will there be an update? No. Did you even know that Democrats and Republicans in Missouri were also targeted?

Didn't matter to you. You know most of these people are low information voters and they lean right. Anything you can feed them to get them fired up is what its about.

Hence this thread.

Norm Coleman has been hit a major lawsuit and allegation on his wife accepting $75,000 payments for work she never did. Its filed by a Texas oilman against Norms friend who has been accused of buying thousands of dollars of suits for him and Norm not declaring them (the same thing Ted Stevens has been found guilty of). The Texan is saying that he was forced to make the payments to help subsidized Norms income.

We also found out that Norm is living in a million dollar house in DC for 600 month. Norm claimed to pay his own utilities yet cannot produce one bill.

Norm taking trips paid for by oil lobbyists with now convicted felon, Alaska Senator Ted Stevens.

Strange how those stories, in the same paper, never make it to your blog.

When is the last time a political email came around that wasn't complete crap, er, somewhat suspiciously truthy? on either side?

now, for equal time, I encourage you all to go read Rolling Stone's article on McCain. a snippet:

"This is the story of the real John McCain, the one who has been hiding in plain sight. It is the story of a man who has consistently put his own advancement above all else, a man willing to say and do anything to achieve his ultimate ambition: to become commander in chief, ascending to the one position that would finally enable him to outrank his four-star father and grandfather.

In its broad strokes, McCain's life story is oddly similar to that of the current occupant of the White House. John Sidney McCain III and George Walker Bush both represent the third generation of American dynasties. Both were born into positions of privilege against which they rebelled into mediocrity. Both developed an uncanny social intelligence that allowed them to skate by with a minimum of mental exertion. Both struggled with booze and loutish behavior. At each step, with the aid of their fathers' powerful friends, both failed upward. And both shed their skins as Episcopalian members of the Washington elite to build political careers as self-styled, ranch-inhabiting Westerners who pray to Jesus in their wives' evangelical churches.

In one vital respect, however, the comparison is deeply unfair to the current president: George W. Bush was a much better pilot."

The beautiful thing about Democracy is that people vote and the country changes without bloodshed (usually and hopefully). From the polls I read, it certainly appears America is preparing for another shift – this one to the democrats.

I happen to agree with Eric that the republican party has lost it’s way. We used to be a party of small government with a set of Christian morals. We lost that definition. Government has grown dramatically under Bush and we failed as moral leaders too.

The part I find funny is that democrats (and frequently Eric) have done a great job pointing out how the republicans have failed us conservatives. That has moved many conservatives to vote democrat this year. But the implication is that democrats will be more conservative, when they have zero, YES ZERO, intent to even try. Like I said above, the Democrats have demonstrated fantastic politics, but not leadership. I believe the voters want “change” because Bush grew government too much and they are voting for Obama who intends to grow government significantly faster!

If I felt the people of America really want the dramatically increased government Obama is proposing, I would be puzzled. But, I don’t believe that is what we are seeing. I believe the Democrats success is because republicans have lost their way, leaving voters with a party struggling to find their identity or a party of “change” without any idea what that change is. As we are all about to learn, some change is bad.

I look forward to Obama delivering on his promise to cut taxes for families making less than $250,000, increase spending on just about everything and balance the budget. That is Obama’s promise.

I wasn't thinking a thing about politics today folks. I have taken up a new hobbie. Drag racing.

Earlier this year I bought a 83 GMC s15 mini pick up, with a stock 350 corvette engine in it. These trucks come from the factory with a 6 cylinder 4.3 motor. These s10 and s15 trucks are popular trucks to build into hot rods. With tech advice from Jarred of MAS Racing Products, today my friend Bob English and I rebuilt the motor to dyno out around 450 hp. The motor looks great, grumbles, and now the truck is like some kind of wild ride at the fair. I have a long way to go to get it safe ready for drag racing, tranny work, drive shaft rear end, roll bar and much more however, the journey is half the fun.

Hey Bill, why don't you wait until Wednesday to cry in your beer.

Once again you just can't come to grips with reality. You try to find every excuse of why the democrats are winning and you decide they aren't winning its the republicans who lost.

You try to explain how people can't be voting for democrats because of the their policies, its the politics.

This is the same style of debate you pulled out when you just couldn't bring yourself to believe that the investment banks were contrived in their actions in the the great American swindle. You were ready and do blame everyone but the investment bankers who made the most money hand over fist and drove this thing into the ground.

Now, wrap your mind around this. The last time the Democrats had control, we eliminated the deficit and created a surplus, paid the debt down significantly, and created more millionaires than any other time in our history. Real incomes across the board went up for all groups and ages.

Under these Republicans, we have grown the government bigger than any other time in our history, created more debt than any other time in our history- so much that we had to raise the debt ceiling! The surplus has turned into, yes, the biggest deficit in our history, wealth is disappearing faster than it did at the beginning of the Great Depression, more good paying jobs have left this country in the last eight years than any other period in our history, etc, etc.

Now when you look at those two scenarios, damn right Democrats are more fiscally responsible.

Eric

Bill,

The biggest problem for the GOP is that because it wants as little government as possible, it has a hard time recruiting good people to run the machinary of government. The best and brightest in the GOP do something else and don't want to run a government agency (they don't want the pay cut).

So, some of the clods that they end up turning government agencies over to couldn't find water with a boat... remember Katrina?

Dem's have no problems finding people that will quit good jobs to work for the government. They ALL want to be "helpful." The problem for the Dem's is just the opposite. Because they believe that government can make peoples' lives better they tend to assume that people can't do without government support. So they smother them with love... (rules, laws, policies...).

Eric,

I never mentioned fiscally responsible. I said conservative. Big difference.

The democrats may very well decrease the deficit -- with large tax increases you can balance a lot of things.

But, conservative is another question. The democrats have (rightfully so) criticized the GOP for growing gov't. But, the dirty little secret is that the Democrats don't plan to even try to restrain gov't growth.

When the democrats took over COngress in 2006, the economy was just fine. The crash came with Democrats in control and I don't see what they did to prevent it.

The point is moot because the people are speaking. But, I stand by my statement that pointing out Bush grew gov't when the democrats PLAN to grow it faster, is not leadership, it is politics.

Bill Cullen.

7:19 AM

Bill,
How would you know what the 'secret' plan is? You're nowhere near anyone in congress let alone leadership.

The deficit is created by spending money we don't have- so to pay for it you have to raise taxes.

Republicans don't have the balls to pay as you go. The offer tax cuts and all kinds of goodies and the put on the national credit card, so we don't see it. Well, the bill comes in sometime and you have to pay. So, yes, the Democrats do come in and clean up the mess the Republicans have left time and time again.

The Democrats took over in 2007 and passed everything they said in the first 100 days. However, Republicans in the Senate used the procedures to block almost all of it. Until the economy tanked, then as usual, the republicans are in hiding because they have no clue on managing it.

Back in the summer you wanted to blame the Democratic congress for 4.00/gal gas. Are you ready to give them credit for cutting the price of gas in half?

Are you able to put forth an honest argument on your side? You know everything above as well as I do.

I'm starting to see why you are a failed candidate for office yourself. You can shoot straight with the people.

Don't forget to waste your vote tomorrow.

Tommy,
I don't know who pissed in your cornflakes but, it wasn't me. This post is about a false email on Obama. After I sent the correct information, EVERY SINGLE RETORT WAS DIRECTED AT ME- like yours. So, I answered. This is not about local Democrats.

Under the last Democratic administration black families saw real income rise, more enrollment and graduation from college, more small business creation, shrinking welfare rolls and increased home ownership.

Under the Republicans all of that went in the opposite direction, not just for blacks, but for most Americans who would fall in the middle and working classes.

I'm sorry to anger you with all my facts and stuff. I know facts tend to have a liberal bias as far as you're concerned and, like Sarah Palin, everything you need to know you can find out by just looking out of your window.

Thanks Eric for clearing the air that your a hog of the blog!If you need to talk that much maybe your guy isn't the one.Don't worry we'll give Barack a chance and kick him out of office when he does the same a his Senate career.Ya can't vote present being the president. You have to make real decisions that count.

The country needed a Carter to get a Reagan.I say have at her Barack,Pelosi,And Reed.If those threee aren't scary enough I don't know what is.Unchecked power. We all are in for a ride.

But Eric when you see you taxes go up along with your middle class friends. When you see higher gas and elecric cost go up.When you see your parents capitol gains go up when they want to cash in on their 401k that they have saved their entire lives go up.When you see al qaeda filling the vacuum when Barack pulls out of Iraq and we have to send troops back to fight. When you see your health premiums go down and the quality of health care follow blame youself because you voted for him.

Jim, aren't we fighting Al Queada now in Iraq? So they are already there and have been for a few years.

Obama wrote over 800 bills in the US Senate and never voted present in the US Senate.

Twenty minutes before the statewide lit drops begin. Aren't you coming?

OK. That did it. Have any of you McCain supporters ever noticed when McCain speaks at his rallies that he is NOT talking to you??? How many of you make over $250,000 per year? I'll bet NONE of you do!

McCain repeatedly says that "Obama wants to spread YOUR wealth around". What wealth? There is your first clue folks! None of you are wealthy so why would you defend an indefenseable? McCain thinks you are stupid. I might tend to agree if you aren't bright enough to read between the lines in his speeches.

The accusations that Obama is a socialist are absurd. But, for all of you McCain supporters who agree with McCain, I challenge you to do this: When Obama rolls back the tax cuts for the wealthy, and he gives you and me a tax break, I want you to send a check to the government. The amount of the check should be the difference between what you are paying in taxes now and what you will pay after you get a tax cut. If you are not willing to return the money then you are a hypocrite.

"None of you are wealthy so why would you defend an indefenseable?"

Why would we defend an indefensible? Because it's the right thing to do you idiot. It's the fair and moral thing to do. Maybe we're not welthy, but that's not the point. Unlike you DFL'rs who want to pick every pocket you can find, we don't want anyone elses money. We're willing to work for what we have and we want to keep it. Get it....we don't want to share so your politician buddies can feel powerful with our money that they want to spread around to their buddies.

Eric, :-) I couldn't afford your participation here. It is priceless! Everyone who reads or participates here is priceless! (Whether I agree with you or not
:-).)

Update on the A Democracy News Letter.

The next edition will be an "invitation only" (no stories), asking citizens to join us here to discuss issues in the City of Saint Paul. If we only get one regular poster out of these 7000 news letters, the Town Hall will have gained an asset.

I just voted Bob and it looks like a landslide for McCain. Where I vote , you can sit at tables and fill out your ballot and as I was leaving and walking by the tables, a huge number of the ballots had the very first box checked which was for McCain - Palin. Looks like McCain is going to run the table in this game.

This is not like a court case. I really believe that we all will win. A divided country will always fail, no matter who's in power. A united one is winner everytime through the good and the bad times.

Peace.
