They should use this strategy to round up the drug dealers and people who lower the quality of life in the neighborhoods. It appears to work pretty good.

OMG I am in shock! I have heard of girls gone wild but this should be labeled "Cops Gone Wild" I felt as though I was watching video footage from the war in Iraq. It appeared like a rampage by law enforcement...

The question I wonder is; St.Paul is not the only city that has held a Republican convention, what was the methods of crowd control that other cities have used...? I can hardly believe this would be the norm. The other question is how is this gonna effect the relationship in the future between society and law enforcement...?

I am a reporter that was arrested on September 4th, 2008.

I was interviewing the protesters that were at the bridge when a huge swarm of people came down from the capital. We kept the camera rolling and were right in the thick of things when the police opened fire on peaceful protesters.

The police opened fire on myself and my cameraperson as we were yelling that we were the press. Then they threw tear gas canisters at us and I was hit by shrapnel. That’s when I lost my cameraperson.

They ordered me into a rearing horse and I refused and went around the horses, then I was full body sprayed with mace. I looked at the officer that sprayed me and said, “Why are you doing this?” And then they lined up the horses and stampeded us.

We were animals in a cage being shot at.
We have the video, including them shooting at us as we yelled that we were the press.

We have no rights. We have no country. I wonder if anyone cares.

I co-host Inside Insight, a live TV program on Weds. nights. We are putting together the footage and doing a special edition of the program. The program will be recorded and posted on the web.

Wow. Where to start?

Friday’s “peaceful march” was broke up by police because they did not have a permit to march. In otherwords, they were all law breakers.

So, Nancy^2 what is your point? We should not enforce laws? We should selectively enforce laws when you think we should? The permit process is unconstitutional? Something else? Maybe the constitution guarantees you a right to speak at the RNC (like it appears to do at the City Council meeting)?

My co-host was at the state capital early Thursday evening (about 6PM) and said there wasn’t much happening. He asked that I up to pick up a cameraperson so we would have footage for our program on Weds. night. I brought a cameraperson and then my co-host left, saying he was hungry and for me to cover the story.

I was caught in the bedlam of the police attack.

I WAS NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE PROTEST.

We have on film my repeatedly yelling that we were the Press and the police then turning and shooting at us. The police then threw tear gas canisters at us and one went off a foot away and I was injured from the shrapnel.

We were “alone”. We were not a part of the crowd.

We fled the shots and I lost my cameraperson. I was then ordered into a rearing horse and I refused and walked “safely around”, only to be full body maced.

I found my cameraperson and we tried to get to my car but were forced into the crowd. The police then lined up the horses and stampeded us. For hours I sat on the cold concrete of the bridge as temperatures dropped and my body was soaked with mace. When I was handcuffed, my shoulder was dislocated. I complained and asked that I be cuffed in front, but was refused.

The videos we have of the BRUTAL, UNPROVOKED ATTACK on the Citizens AND the Press will be broadcast Weds. night. DVDs will be made and distributed, as well as posted on the web.

The protesters DID have a permit to march and began their march within the timeframe of the permit. They were NOT allowed to march.

SO WHO WERE THE LAWBREAKERS??

As a fellow Citizen, I wonder if you care.
Our elected officials need to speak out against this outrageous attack and to stand with the People in defending our secured rights.

The Republicans are being painted as the “demons” in this attack. People do not know that the St. Paul city council (DFL controlled) has promoted and endorsed police brutality. There is a St. Paul city ordinance that any building in St. Paul can be searched at any time, without a warrant.

I received videos and an email from another reporter, demanding all the Republicans out of office. True servants of the People (first, servants of our Lord) in ANY party need to make a public outcry of what happened on Thursday night. The TRUTH needs to come out as to whom orchestrated this attack.

A Republican “leader” needs to spearhead an investigation.
Right now, the Republican Party, at the very least, is being painted a complacent to the attack…and that the most, having implemented it.

Is anybody here surprised to Nancy Lazaryan cought up in some drama yet again? She was just minding her business as a citizen and the 'government' attempted to deny her of her rights. When the cops say 'move', just move. A lecture on soveriegn citizerns is not needed. I heard the cops that manhandled you were taking great joy in shutting you down.

It was your cowboy Sheriff Bob Fletcher that set this off. He arrested over 100 so-called protesters including an eight year old child handcuffed and faced down.

With his record of falsifying warrants, we know that he probably had no proof or real reason to break in on several homes and places to arrest people based on suspicion of rioting.

While all of these people were being detained, all hell broke loose downtown. So, Fletcher's so called infiltrator sent him in one direction while they destroyed property.

The news of the arrests made it clear that it didn't matter if your were going to be peaceful or riot, you were going to have a run-in with the cops. So, with nothing to loose, people rioted.

Nancy, that goon you support, Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher, is part of the problem not the solution.

I was downtown every day of the RNC. I recorded protests for www.looktruenorth.com every day. I was right in the middle of the action, every day.

Somehow though, I managed not to get arrested, maced, backed into horses, bludgeoned or maltreated in any way.

Want to know my secret?

I listened to what the cops said, I was polite, I kept out of their way, and when they said it was time to go, I went.

In fact, the cops allowed me to park my motorcycle behind their squads several times so I could video tape the proceedings...very cool.

Just. that. simple.

The cops gave several warnings, every time, before they went into action. Anyone that "got caught up" in an arrest had to A) want to be there or B)was a cameraman looking to score points at review time at work or C) is an idiot.

I saw a whole lot of idiots.

On Thursday, the children of failed parents were allowed to perform their asshat dance for almost two hours after their permit expired before the cops stepped in...and when that happened, I was out of the way...still recording and laughing my ass off.

Now dealing with the Bucky Thune anarchist brigade on Smith Street was a little different.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIMJxUQTn8E

Thanks to Thune, these morons were reinserted into my West Side neighborhood after the Sheriff's department had removed them.

Thanks, Bucky!

I simply can't wait for Bucky's big "truth and reconcilliation" trials at the council chambers...I've got almost an hour of interviews from my neighbors that had some choice words for Bucky.

Where in the world are you idiots getting your information?

Fletcher is not my boy. I saw him in processing at the jail and told him that Zick would not be happy and that I was Zick’s co-host. He became very apologetic, saying that he was just processing the arrestees, he had “nothing to do with this”. When he passed by the holding cell I yelled at him that he was just doing all of this because two of his boys had just been convicted.

And NO, I was not “out looking for trouble”. THE POLICE never told me to leave. I tried to LEAVE and was forced into the crowd. I repeated told them I was press. Had my press pass yanked off of my body.

IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING that the protesters had a valid permit and that they were not allowed to march. The permit then expired (because of the actions of the St. Paul police), and the protesters went on a march, saying, “Let us march”. This was moments after I arrived at the capital.

The city of St. Paul, through their police department, refused to let the protesters march on a valid permit, and then when the permit expired, they opened fire on the group.

There were FIFTY members of the Press that were corralled by the police with the protesters. I heard MANY of them object, not just myself.

This was a TRAINING exercise. There were police from all over the country at the protest. UNDER WHAT AUTHORITY OF LAW were law enforcement from outside the city, outside the state SHOOTING at innocent people?

The Republicans are being called out as the demons.
I want to know, WHO orchestrated people being penned up and shot at?
The city of St. Paul is DFL controlled.
The major media is DFL controlled.

Personally, I think this goes way deeper.
Does this blog say, “We are on a TRUTH seeking mission”?

I WILL find out who authorized the Press and the People to be BRUTALIZED on Thursday night.

We HAVE the videos.

Stolen from SPIF.

From: Grace Kelly (nicknamed Kelly) Date: Sep 05 18:58 UTC Short link

Quoting from Mary Turck at
http://www.tcdailyplanet.net/

“I was beaten in the Ramsey County jail”

RNC WC spokespersons told reporters they should be investigating the real
violence of the week, which they characterized as police violence against
protesters. A reporter asked about stories of abuse of protesters in jail, and
a young man stood up at the side of the room and said, “I was beaten in the
Ramsey County jail.”

Offered a microphone and the stage, 19-year-old Elliott Hughes said that “me
and some friends were chanting for food,” when six or seven officers came into
the cell. “One punched me in the face, and I fell unconscious. An officer
slammed my head on the ground, waking me up.” Then, he said, he was dragged to
a retaining cell, where the officers put a bag on his head and “did pain
compliance on me.”

“I was screaming for God and crying,” he said, and eventually the officers took
him to Regions Hospital for stitches and treatment.

Asked whether he had been given food, Hughes said he had been given food
earlier in his imprisonment, but then got nothing for 12 hours. He said he was
coughing blood and dry heaving and vomiting, and that “one officer said I was
bulimic, and others called me ‘gay’ and ‘a princess.’”

Unquote:

This story can be verified from pictures of the arrest and checking with
Regions Hospital. But then you may say this is an ISOLATED case. Then look at
this story:

Quote:

And what about all those arrests? The numbers so far show that as of Thursday
afternoon, about 300 people have been arrested in St. Paul and about 100 in
Minneapolis. All but a handful of the Minneapolis arrestees were cited and
released immediately.

St. Paul is a different story. Some people were cited with misdemeanors,
processed and released within a few hours; but the vast majority of people were
charged with "gross misdemeanors" or felonies. They were held up until their
36 hours expired. (Minnesota law requires individuals in custody to be charged
and brought before a judge or released after 36 hours, not including the day of
arrest, weekends and holidays.)

Wednesday was a big day in arraignment court because, for most of the
arrestees, their 36 hours was up at noon. According to the Star Tribune, 71
people were arrested on felony charges. Twenty-seven of them were dismissed
outright. We have been told that all but around 25 of the rest have already
been reduced to lesser charges. Our volunteer attorneys were surprised by the
high bail amounts they saw on Tuesday, and Wednesday was more of the same.

On Tuesday one of our attorneys told the judge for the record that in his 30
years of practicing criminal law, he has never seen $2,000 bail for charges of
disorderly conduct. By Wednesday evening when the calendar turned to the last
50 or so misdemeanor arraignments, bail amounts were down in the $200 to $500
range for out-of-state defendants and no bail for in-state residents. Our
attorneys heard stories from many people, including journalists, who reported
being swept up by police without regard to their actions. One person reported
that he worked for a security company and he was on his way to report to his
assignment — at the convention — when police arrested him along with others.
Complicating matters for those who have been released is the seizure and
holding of their property. We have been getting calls all day from people who
are in a jam because their car keys, backpacks, purses, wallets, credit cards,
IDs and cell phones were taken by police. They are not able to drive their
vehicles home because they don’t have their keys and they can’t get a place to
stay without access to their money.

Outside the Law Enforcement Center on Wednesday evening, the atmosphere was a
mix of joy and apprehension. Family members and friends came to await the
release of their loved ones and friends. Clusters of people gathered on the
sidewalks and boulevards to reunite with people being released. A guitarist
played mellow music to one small group of people and the assembled group was
peaceful. Across the street, a group of police on horseback watched the
sidewalk in anticipation. Another group of police in riot gear was assembled
nearby the mounted patrol. On the other side, at least one more group of
police in riot gear also kept a watchful eye on the peaceful crowd. By the
time I left the LEC when court was winding down, all but one group of police in
riot gear had left the area.

Unquote:

There are about 300 people still in Sheriff Fletchers jail, where they are not
allowing journalists or even lawyers with cell phones. Why not cell phones -
afraid of documenting injury? This is your county, this stuff is happening now
in your county jail, So do you pay attention or do you pour drink and pretend
that nothing is happening? Hmmmm?

Grace Kelly wasn't one bit concerned when NAZI tactics first raised their ugly head against the landlords. Why is she so upset now? Nancy L left here never to return cause of ego problems. She didn't want anything to do with the landlords cause unless it benifeted her. Now they're both crying in their soup because they experienced some NAZI diversity and we're supposed to feel sorry for them? That's really asking a lot in my opinion.

As to the permit. The permit has a begining and an end time. You have to be able to complete your parade within the time frame.

Permit was from 3 to 6 PM. When the parade had not started by 5 PM and there was no way it would be completed by 6 PM (end time). The police cancelled the permit.

All permits can be cancelled by the police at any time, but this was cancelled because they did not have enough time left to complete the parade by 6 PM. Police had warned the organizers at 4 PM that they would cancel the permit at 5 if they didn't get going.

So, Swiftee is correct.

He is still an idiot but he is correct about this one. My better half is police reserve and was on 12th Street when it all started.

Then you were not listening. They said it several times. I had no problem leaving.

"I tried to LEAVE and was forced into the crowd."

Oops..too late.

"I repeated told them I was press. Had my press pass yanked off of my body."

You've been telling everyone that you're a lawyer too!

Who issued your press pass? Please don't tell me you were waving around one you printed off on the old laser jet and laminated!

You might as well as been waving around a plastic badge out of a cereal box claiming to be CIA, LOL!

"IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING that the protesters had a valid permit and that they were not allowed to march. The permit then expired (because of the actions of the St. Paul police)"

Yeah, right. The police forced those morons to sit around running their mouths until the permit expired.

I'm afraid your legal grounds ("MY UNDERSTANDING") in this case are not going to be any better than any of the other "cases" you've been "trying", Nancy. But by all means, you go with it.

That being said, I'm guessing that the NLG would hire you today.

The City of St. Paul is required to submit an after-assessment of how the
convention security, etc. went.
Each Councilmember has been invited to participate.
I'd invite each of you to be involved by sending something thru SPIF

Try to be concise. Offer a what went right or wrong and if wrong, suggest
how it could've been corrected.
I will submit these along with my own.

For example:
Independent journalists were arrested and shouldn't have been.
Suggest we should've offered pre-RNC credentialing I.D. tags and allowed the
holders to move thru the streets without fear of arrest.

Crowds of non-violent protesters were caught in the middle and were confused
as to how to escape police v.s. violent protesters.
Suggest a St. Paul cop should've been in charge of all non- st. paul units.
An officer(s) should have been available to lead non-violent demonstrators
to safety.

Your input will be submitted net week.

I haven't seen a request for such information from the citizens at large, and I have about 45 minutes of interviews from West sidI happen to know there are plenty of folks that are itching to give Thune a piece of their minds.

I have 45 minutes of interviews from West siders that need to be heard.

Have a gander at the comments to the stories in today's Pioneer press...Thune is mentioned in every one, and not kindly once.

Tom Swift and I can agree on at least one thing, the truth about what happened at the RNC is NOT being told in the media.

I was also in attendance all 4 days, 10 hours a day, on the streets reporting for Black Talk Radio and Radio Free Nation.

I took 7 hours of video, 5.5 hours of audio and 300 + photographs.

I saw Protesters assemble peacefully and march peacefully. I saw ordinary American's exercising the RIGHTS guaranteed to them and enshrined in our Constitution.

Separately, I saw some idiots breaking windows, vandalizing cars, buses and trying to incite police.

I too followed the Police orders and was polite, but I also wanted to get close to the action and so I take responsibility
for the times I was too near a Flash Bang grenade or caught some Pepper Spray that was not aimed at me.

Bottom line is that both Tom Swift and I saw the same events but probably have very different views about those events.

Perhaps he sees the good and noble Police of our City trying to keep order in the face off overwhelming chaos and intentional criminal activity by crowds of Anarchists bent on destroying our American way of life.

I saw mostly well intentioned Americans try to Protest and excercise their freedoms. I spoke with and observed many fine Police who were interested ONLY in keeping the peace and NOT in breaking heads.

I also saw Police act in ways that were deplorable and absolutely reminiscent of the 1960's Civil Rights movement. I observed media being denied access and even arrested. I saw innocent, free Americans being injured by a "few" angry Police eager to use force instead of diplomacy.

As with all stories, there are many perspectives, but what should really concern American's of ALL political persuasions is not just the violence that took place, but the vast apathy of the American people and the BIG media to the events that took place at the RNC.

Have we come to accept the sorts of things that went on at the RNC as normal?

Do you think there will ever be a time when we might NOT need 2000 POLICE to "Protect" us from 300 people marching on behalf of the POOR?

I documented as much as I could and its available with links on this blog as well as:
