SHHHH! While we listen to words of wisdom from a wise man.
Conscience is the light of the Soul that burns within the chambers of our psychological heart. It is as real as life is. It raises the voice in protest whenever anything is thought of or done contrary to the righteousness. Conscience is a form of truth that has been transferred through our genetic stock in the form of the knowledge of our own acts and feelings as right or wrong. A virtuous and courageous person can alone use the instrument of conscience. He or she can alone hear the inner voice of the soul clearly. In a wicked person this faculty is absent. The sensitive nature of his / her conscience has been destroyed by sin or corruption. Hence he or she is unable to discriminate right from wrong. Those who are leading organizations, business enterprises, institutions and governments should develop this virtue of the ability to use their own conscience. This wisdom of using the clean conscience will enable them to enjoy the freedom.

I know this home. Black people used to live there and that's why the city wants to tear it down so the owner will not rent it out to people the city city deems undesirable. Get rid of the nest and you get rid of the critter.
Bob - This house is NOT going to be demo'ed by the City. If you go to your council link for the last case and listen to item #63 you will hear that the owner was fine with the 90 days to complete the work.
The building was a mess at one time and this guy has put over $120,000 into the rehab. It has now finally gotten in front of the hearing officer. So she and the council go with 90 days to finish the job. You know what, if it isn't ready to go in 80 days and it looks like this I will bet you $1,000 that Bostrom will give him another 90 days. NOBODY WANTS TO DEMO BUILDINGS THAT ARE PROFESSIONALLY BEING REPAIRED!!!!
There aren't jacks holding up the foundation on this one. It isn't like the Case street one where there is $70,000 worth of repair needed and the guy says I can get it fixed up for $5,000. Bostrom talks about that when he moves approval of the 90 days. The council can't not do anything, they have to make some ruling so they gave him 90 days. Someone has put a lot of money into this and it isn't going to be demo'ed.

If they didn't want to tear it down Repke they wouldn't have it before the city council. They're probably waiting like they did with Jessamine till it only has a few thousand dollars of work left and they'll pull the plug on the guy and demo it.
Do the surrounding propertys see a decrease or increase in their proprerty taxes when a home gets
torn down ?
Once a house is demolished, whats the average rebuild time for the lot?
Seems to me the kind of neighborhoods these demo houses are in would take a long time to find a builder.
The city must have a hidden agenda
and a master plan that it doesn't want the public to know about.
bye bye tax base.
They have a plan allright. Ask the landlords about it, they'll tell ya all about the city's little plan.
This house looks better than the photos Mr.Ciani took of Thunes house.
If Thune is such a stand up guy he should let the pioneer press,an independent housing inspector or a tish inspector on the inside of his building to see if theres any violations.
Chuck how about it?
They'd put the place on the short track to demo! Talk about a threat to public saftey, that place redefines and adds new meaning to the words.
I heard that Ciani is going to photograph all of the demolitions so there is a record of the citys crimes against its citizens.
If 14 Jessamine is the standard of "what's not OK," then nothing in the city is safe from demolition.
Could we also get an update on Thune's place Tim? It's been a couple of years and I am sure people would like to see the progress he's making.
No it should not be demolished. This is rediculous. Many of my neighbors in Frogtown are talking about the city having gone over the line with their code enforcement. Some are leaving.
Hi All,
The city may have never intended to demolish this building. In fact they were probably using the ordinances to TERRIFY the owners into repairs they may or may not be able to afford.
There is a process that these buildings go through that takes time to get to the council. Once the process starts and a building has a legislative hearing it has to go to the council to be resolved.
Listen to agenda item 63 on the link Bob has to last Wednesday's council meeting. The owner was fine with this and the council has no interest in nocking it down.

The whole process from the Legislative Hearing through the City Council and into District Court is rigged and dishonest.

Chuck will buy the house and make money off it.
Thune's boy Chuck, is in with the in crowd.
Thune might be buying up properties though a dummy corporation or dummy company, its name could be Chuck Repke or maybe under JMONTOMEPPOF.
The thieves that lurk from behind the scene, the city council and their helpers.

This is a good way to collect some graft, under the table.
Do you all think St.Paul is more honest then MLPS. City Council?

Is:
Just My Opinion Not Those Of My Employers Past Present Or Future
I use that because so many people attack either my current or past employers for what I might say on these discussion forums.
What I say here has NOTHING to do with Dave Thune (who I worked for from 1/1/90 to 12/31/97) over ten years ago or any of my current clients (I have 4 at the moment) or anybody that I might get as a client in the future.
Its just my two cents.
I do find it interesting that some people have such a hard time with the notion that everyone that is involved with politics or government don't all share one brain. There is no secret hand shake or decoder ring... I am sorry to burst your bubble.

There is no secret hand shake or decoder ring... I am sorry to burst your bubble."
Don't be sorry Chuck....it's much more subtle and sophisticated than the "secret hand shake or decoder ring," but it's there and before long everyone is going to see it for what it is.
Chuck Repke 8:10 AM
How do you sleep, with how dirty you were when working for Thune in 1996 & 1997?
I think you are as bad as any in office, lets run a compagne to elect Chuck Repke to the city council.
Then Thune and Repke can work together like Hitler and his boys.
Hmmm,
Chuck informs everyone where to find the proof that this house is NOT going to be torn down. 15 posts later the discussion goes on because no one cares for truth- only for confirmation of their perspective. Anything else is corrupt and erroneous.
Is that about right?
Bob, you blew this one in the title. Its a non-sequitur of a title.
Eric
Bob-
Two months ago this house was sitting vacant and vandalized on a block that had 8 other homes that were vacant or foreclosed upon. The house looked horrible - doors were knocked down weekly - windows missing and the front porch falling down. Everyone in the neighborhood wanted something done about it.
The new owner has come in, and when done, will have put over $120,000 into renovating the house. All these other owners at the hearing in the earlier post were putting less than $15k into them. Do you think that's making them decent places to live? Hardly - it's making them a place that is barely acceptable to the mice that will be living with the tenants.
Bostrom even said it was nice to see someone working hard on renovating this house at the council meeting. You really need to listen and report accurately or only the crazies are going to take you seriously. Ninety days is just saying - keep on track and you don't have to worry - but we don't want a pile of junk hanging around if you don't.
Jonathan
Does anyone know the previous owner? I'd sure like to hear how he lost the house.
Hi Eric,
I changed the title to-
"Saint Paul/City threatened owner to repair this building or they would demolish it".
I am going to be posting photos almost weekly with the same title to make it easier to search the archives for this subject.
Thanks for the information Jonathan.
The reason I am posting these photos is so we can dig for the truth concerning some of these homes that have come under fire.
