Hi All,

I received an anonymous email reprinted below. As you regulars know I usually keep private emails private. I tried to ask permission to post the email I posted below and my request have been returned to me as an invalid email address.

Our Saintly City isn't so Saintly. We can change that together. Please do not have fear, we can stand together.

If anyone out there has information that can shed light on this issue please come forward. Or if anything stated below isn't the truth please someone say so!

The email sent to me-

Dear Bob

I want to commend you on your efforts to make this blog available to people so they can see just what is going on in the city of St. Paul an elsewhere with respect to all the corruption. I have read the blog almost every week with a bit of skepticism, figuring like everything else, some of it is probably true while there are also exaggerations.

I'm writing to tell you that you are probably only scratching the surface!

I had the uncanny experience of meeting one of the people suing the St. Paul when I went to my cousins to borrow a power washer the other. I recognized his name immediately when introduced to him and after reading so much here about these lawsuits, I couldn't help but ask if he was the one suing the city. It turned he was, and we spent some time talking about it.

I heard about things that have never been mentioned on your blog, and I think you should check into them. For instance, the city trying to frame people and put them in jail, bringing false lawsuits against people when the city's own records showed the city knew it was wrong in doing so, the city rigged the Ramsey County Court in their favor and by doing so, completely violated the "separation of powers" provision that is supposed to protect the people. After they were able to pick which Judges they wanted and did not want in advance of bringing an charges against landlords, they then sent members of the Police Department and the City Attorneys office to "train" the Judge. And if that sounds crazy, get a grasp on this: during the discovery process, the city turns over the proof of this to the people suing them!!!

The people suing took about 40 "Deposition Hearings" from inspectors, and you won't believe what happened. Most of the people came in and lied through their teeth about everything they were asked.....much to the delight of the people suing because they already knew the answers to the questions and had the proof to back it up when they asked the questions.

I could go on all night about what was said, but I think you should use your resources to get at the bottom of what is really going on. Some of these inspectors are going to wind up in jail I'm afraid. The civil rights violations have been horrendous, and the untruthfulness just makes the people co-conspirators in a matter that is almost certain to turn criminal after the proof is all in.

While normally I would have taken what this guy had to say with a grain of salt, just as I did your blog, there is one statement he made that makes me believe everything he had to say. He said, and I think I am quoting this word for word: "we're not asking anyone to take our word for anything, all we want is for a jury to just look at the overwhelming evidence and make make a decision."

From all the things I heard, if this jury even has marginal intelligence, I can't see how that decision is going to favor the city.

Keep up the good work Bob.

I'll make it simple for you Bob. They were telling the truth in the depositions and these guys don't have a case. They have been playing your heart strings and made a fool of you.

Sounds like you guys spent a bunch of cash on attorneys and now you are grabbing at straws..

The only winner in this suit is the plaintiffs attorney.

What a bunch of losers.

Bob - do you have the papers, etc. posted somewhere on your site regarding those depositions that are being talked about/ i thought you did because I remember reading them at one time, but now I can't seem to find them. What happened?

Now that the depositions are over, I would assume the next step to be a motion by the plaintiffs for punitive damages and for the City to file a motion for summary judgement. That is if the City has enough nerve to file one.
I would also assume that those of you who lied in the depositions had better be worried. A good lawyer would fashion his questions to be able to show where you lied and be able to turn that proof over to the justice dept. for criminal charges. Those of you who lied, and you know who you are, I would be plenty worried and come clean and contact the FBI, Plaintiffs or Justice Dept. Now is the time to become a whistle blower.

Nothing has been removed from the blog. Everything is archived.

I'm sorry I don't feel like looking for anything. I have had a tooth ache for 4 days and I finally got it pulled about 4 hours ago.

Worse tooth ache I ever had. Gave me a headache and ear ache too. I just feel like sleeping now.

I do remember posting something about Judge shopping sometime ago. Anyone out there remembers this try and think of the month we spoke of this issue.

9:43... remember those words of yours when your taxes sky rocket up to pay the liabilities and additional costs encountered by the plaintiffs are court ordered to be payed by the city of St.Paul. Then we will see who is speaking the truth and who is crying the blues!

And one more further note; you have a lot of nerve saying that Bob has been made a fool of, Bob is a kind and caring person which appears to be something you would know nothing about in your life!

Now I'll just bet the upper tiers of management are going to attempt to point the blame at the inspectors who conducted the illegal acts. Those inspectors that lied better hang on for a wild ride. I hope you saved up for a criminal defense attorney, you are probably going to need one.
Look at the news - public officials are being caught and punished for their illegal acts. You guys are no different.
Do you hear what I hear? Why I think its the sound of a jail door slamming shut! Some of you council members ought to be just as worried.
I say - How does it feel?
Justice - you just gotta love it!

St Paul has been screwing with landlords for 20 years, this is nothing new. The only reason they got away with it is becasue the did it sparingly to the "right" landlords. Where they went wrong is when they decided to start violating people's rights in a wholesale fashion, and then they apparantly did it to the worng people!

I for one am quite happy to see these lawsuits going on. There is corruption and criminal wrong doing on the part of government everywhere one looks and hears, and this is as good a place to try putting a stop to it as any. The trouble is that government NEVER thinks they are breaking the law or did anything wrong. They had this kind of stuff going on where my brother lives, and one of the inspectors had the nerve enough to start scolding the judge when asked if she had anything to say! Her remarks? She went off on a tirade about how she didn't appeciate the news media making a story out of her misfortune and causing her all kinds of humiliation! True story.

Say. What ever happened to Steve Manger. He was photographed taking stuff (plywood) out of that house on the East Side. Was he ever prosecuted for that?

I find it interesting that as a city inspector you can take away someone’s house and then the inspector can take whatever he wants before it is torn down. This is a kind of an incentive program for inspectors to do their job.

It is just like the police impound lot. When that car is to be sold, they go through the car and "remove" anything of value before the car is sold. I know a St. Paul cop who has a very extensive tool collection because he worked at the impound lot.

I have been following your blog for some time paying special attention to the lawsuits. Hats off to you Bob for creating a venue where the truth can be told. I would imagine it won't be long before the national news picks up on this story. We. the citizens of St. Paul, have the right to expect honesty from government and we are not getting it.

I think it's time for someone to start emailing the lawsuit complaints that Bob has posted here to every congressional rep, senator, attorny general and national news organization in the whole damn country along with the question asking why we can't get any justice here with a city that is so out of control. When there are allegations of inspectors shaking people down for their property, stealing stuff from houses under their control, false civil charges, and false criminal charges against people, one would think there would be some kind of investigation. Instead we have the city council trying to hide behind crooked courts (that we now know have been "fixed") because they don't want their depositions taken. Every single city council person should be sued also. It is more than just a little obvious that they are in on this crap up to their eyeballs. Anyone who thinks this all passes the smell test is an idiot.

To 9:12 You are probably just a disgruntled landlord who is pissed cause the politicians have a larger base to steal from than you do. Get over it. Life is still good.

The City feels they have done no wrong!

Hell they promote anyone that gives you landlords a bad time. What does that tell you.

Lisa Martin is moving into a postision now to raise even more hell with landlords.

I wonder what kind of sick twisted people these inspectors are that they would come in and lie to protect what? An adminstration that isn't even there any longer? To sit and deiberatly lie and hide and cover up just makes them co conspirators in what's going on. How do they benifet from that? They are no better than the white people who just looked the other way back in the 50's when the KKK were lyncing the blacks down south. I wonder how these people sleep at night or look at themselves in the mirror every day?

To 9:43 I doubt very much if anyone is grabbing at straws here. These lawsuits have been around for several years now and if the city cannot have gotten rid of them bye now, there is a whole lot more to it than we are hearing about here in this blog.

Why do you suppose there is a new U.S. Attorney who was not chosen in the usual way and who specializes in gov't corruption. She is going to have a field day in St. Paul. I agree - You just gotta love Justice

Personally I think the St. Paul council and certain city officials are so brain dead that even a large judgement against the city would not wake them up. But the voters can and citizens should complain to the higher powers of the FBI, US Attorney, Justice Dept, congressmen, and anyone else they can think of.

I can't wait for this lawsuit thing to come to a boil. It should be right around the time the RNC has their convention here. Then we can tell the world what is going on here with these crooked politicians. Ya hear me Bostrom? If you guys don't have anything to hide, then how come you're afraid to have someone take your deposition? You're all bunch of chicken shits and cowards. When you came to "Acorn" for an endorsement, you had plenty to say about what you have done with regards to landlords and their properites. If you guys are all so proud of what you've done, why don't you want to step up and take credit for it? Cowards and liars!

so your saying the courts are fixed. Well I guess nobody has anything to worry about huh?

Yeah that is exactly what I am saying and there is proof to back it up, and in light of that I'd say there is plenty to worry about.

The new US Attorney is a fraud and a lackey of Bush, in a political sense not a legal sense.
The previous US Attorey was appointed by two different Republican presidents and have put politicians in jail (just look at Minneapolis city council convictions all by him and the legislature from the early 90's),he also went after gangs, drug dealers and organized crime. He wasn't a political crony enough for Bush and they asked him to step down and did the unprecedented act of appointing a political aide instead of a deputy attorney in the Justice Department. They wanted attorneys loyal to them instead of Justice and the law.

I sure hope we got something else to rely in besides the Us Attorney's office.
