Empty, Condemned Foreclosed, Abandoned, squatters, I'll take at hit to get this
media focus a flippant remark yes, to make an issue get some press yes, I'll
take the obnoxious knock for web 'We the people' are being ripped by the
housing boondoggle and that's more then enough to take any arrows for such a
serious issue as housing. Lost tax base, lost school age children, abandoned
belonging, ruining the neighborhood that's obnoxious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom,
Are you the Tom Hilber that's running for the senate seat in 67? If so, I
would just like to recommend that you please take the time to RE-read the
posts you have been putting out on this forum. If they make sense to you,
then hit send. But I'm guessing I might speak for others when I say - I'm
having a very hard time trying to follow any of your sentences - let alone
your thoughts or message. If you'd like to be taken seriously as a
candidate, please look before you leap, lest you be ignored entirely.

Just tryin to help...
Kathleen Murphy

Tom's statement made a lot of sense to me. I am not surprised housing is still a taboo subject at the DFL indoctrination cesspool of Saint Paul Issues and Forums.

I bet Tom is a conservative and every attempt will be made to rid the forum of his outspoken presence. Although housing is a Saint Paul related issues, Tom didn't use the words "Saint Paul" in his comment. SPIF's DFL moderator "the Tilla the Hun" (Rick Mons) will surely use this against Tom.

Against the rules of SPIF, Kathy personally attacked Tom and will more than likely be treated to a round of drinks at the next EGGHEAD gathering at a local pub.

Kathy, ask your indoctrinated DFL friends if they think the city's policies on housing have hindered the recovering of the housing market in Saint Paul. It has!

They will lie to you and blame it on current market trends and the economy. Sure these issues play a role in the recovery, but you can't add stringent code compliance's that are illegal in most instances to the mix and expect to have any kind of recovery.

I warmly invite any SPIFer to come here and debate me on housing issues. :)

How bout you Kathy?

I won't hold my breath waiting for any of you to come here and face the truth.

Bob,

The other day I looked at a property in St. Paul. Nice lot, very nice neighborhood, but the house needed fixing up.

When I contacted the real estate rep, she stated that I needed to include in the purchase agreement for the property and include that I will tear down the house. The bank will NOT sell the property unless the house is torn down because of this Bostrom Law. Tearing down the house and cutting the utilities will be an additional $14,500.00 (my expense).

If I were to have a crew come in we could remodel the house we could do it for around $20,000.00. We would have a nice property to put back on the market.

I was told that this is the Bostrom law or code. This makes no sense at all. I also looked at a house in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The house is just a shell (gutted). When I pulled up the property assessment info there were different pictures of the house over the past three years. The house has stood gutted for over two years now. The city isn't coming down on the homeowner, because they want the house fixed up, as it was built in 1900. The city was willing to work with investors.

What incentive is there for investors to buy these foreclosed homes in St. Paul, when all you are buying is a lot and have to tear down the house because of the "Bostrom Law." I talked to St. Paul (DSI) about this and they say the Bostrom Law ties their hands. This is just nuts! I want to invest in St. Paul, a place where I live, but I am being forced to invest is cities like St. Cloud instead of my hometown of St. Paul.

Is it that St. Paul wants to just tear down homes instead of repairing them? This is NUTS!

Danny boy, hows the campaign going?

I see the real race to watch is in 67. Mee Moua's seat. SPIF is running with a whole lot of crap from Bob Spaulding and the other progressives from the DFL.

Even our own Eric Mitchell got chewed out for not be a gentlemen. After some of his posts here I am not surprised. Eric is a very angry little man.

eric's attitude is cocky, overconfedent, and full of himself. He's more of a smart-ass than angry. That Dan Dobson is angry. In that one spif spot, I have to agree with Eric. Bob S wanted his politician friends to decide who can run for that office instead of the people of the district. i Like it when I see democrats fighting among themselves.

Yup. Eric is cocky. Isn't this trait in Eric what most of us here like? :)

This is the "City without a soul."

The City Council can't get positives with all their negatives, except it may look that way in ths short term. St. Paulites are paying now with emptyness and are going to pay Big Dollars in the end.

Eric and Chuck will be nowhere to be found.

A once great city has been trashed.

Word on the street is Eric's best trait is his "swallow".

But that's just the rumor.

I went over to "SPIF" just now to check it out and the thing that stands out is how irrelevant they have worked to become.

They are having a "debate" that is being taken advantage of by every fringe candidate out there...but not a single solitary endorsed candidate showed up.

Since moonbat enterprises are judged by their FAIL, I'd like to congratulate the SPIF crew for it's magnificent display.
