Hi All,
Last week I interviewed a illegal who just arrived here from Mexico.
Here is his story.
Pedro is 25 years old and a citizen of Mexico. He is a mason who lost his job in Mexico. He has a wife and 2 kids. Life is hard in Mexico for Pedro and his family. They search trash heaps for food to eat. From this trash heap they also utilized household items like dishes. The trash heap is the source of the materials he used to construct shelter for his family.
Out of desperation Pedro like many Mexicans decided to migrate to the US for work so he could support his family.
With only the cloths on his back Pedro hitched hiked 245 miles to the border. Pedro crossed a desert then the Rio Grande river eluding border patrol. He was now in Corpus Christi Texas and told by other illegals it was a hostile environment for illegal workers.
He was told he could find work in Houston. So he hitched hiked his way to Houston. Once there Pedro was met with the same hostilities to employment he found in Corpus Christi. Immigrants from Mexico informed Pedro he could find work in the sanctuary state of Minnesota.
Pedro found his way to the bus station. He first begged for the money to buy a ticket to Minneapolis. No one would give him the bus fair he needed. So when the bus driver wasn't looking he boarded the bus. He went straight to the back of the bus crouching on the floor beneath the seats as much as he could. 3 American citizens covered him with coats.
There was a bus transfer in which Pedro could have been caught by the bus driver. A passenger on the bus gave Pedro his receipt for the ticket he purchased. Pedro presented this receipt to the bus driver at the transfer point and the bus driver seeing this and no ticket gave Pedro a voucher to ride.
Bus riders fed Pedro and provided him with warm clothing for Minnesota's climate. A woman on the bus from Minneapolis has taken Pedro into her home.
I admire Pedro's tenacity to support his family. But at the same time I can't help but think someplace there will be a American family who needed the job Pedro will get.
I am all for Mexican welfare programs. "Trash heaps" Taking recycling to the next level.

This guy with no support system listens to people he doesn't know in Houston, (who have no work) that tell him to go to Minnesota (if it is so good there why aren't they on the bus first) and he just sneeks on the right bus and this guy right out of the trash heap is befriended by everyone on the bus who hides him and feeds him (people from the hostile Houston area that wouldn't help him unless he was on the bus) and he makes it all the way to this frozen tundra and some woman from Mpls takes him in...

That is the story Chuck. Have you ever ridden a bus cross country? Folks get friendly and talk A LOT.
As Andy Rooney would have said, "And here is the rest of the story".
A very close family member was on that bus Chuck. This family member who is close to me was one of the guys who fed Pedro, covered him with his coat to hide him and provided him with a ticket receipt.
The little hottie who provided housing for Pedro was probably going to take advantage of Pedro's vulnerability. :)You must have heard about those hot Latins. Jeeesh, I hope Pedro doesn't get her pregnant. The tax payers would probably end up paying for her illegitimate child when Pedro runs back to Mexico. This happens all to often.
I picked my family member up from the bus stop in Saint Paul. He told me this story and I rushed right over to the Minneapolis bus station to interview this guy. I beat the bus there. :)
This story reminded me of the mass immigration to Minnesota for welfare benefits.
I love stories of humane perseverance.
Chuck, the amazing truth to Pedros story and folks like him is. Pedro will walk into a prospective employer with broken english, nothing for references and most of the time get a job before an American with a work history. That is the reality.
These illegals have a reputation of working hard, not asking for a raise and the biggest thing of all, they don't give a damn about medical or other benefits. But they do send most all their earnings home to Mexico draining our economy.
I have been an employer and manager of business. American labor employees have earned a bad reputation as being lazy, claiming false workers comp claims crating burdens on employers financially.
Unions have contributed to the problems we are having in labor and industry. They have priced the American worker out of a global market, making it impossible for some manufacturing based businesses from earning a profit.
Pedro is the product of a badly managed labor industry.

with my ideas about illegal's here taking the jobs of our own people, like Bob, Jim, Alice, Joan, Kathy and I'm sure there are a few Chuck's and Eric's that are without jobs because of illegal's having jobs and their families here in America don't count?
Our people can try to get welfare so people like Chuck R. and Eric M can pay their way in life and we care more about Mexico and if their people, so they are happy and eating better then our people.

The law, which took effect Jan. 1, punishes employers who knowingly hire individuals who don't have valid legal documents to work in the United States Penalties include suspension of, or loss of, their business license. The Mexican legislators are angry because their own citizens are returning to their hometowns, placing a burden on their state government. 'How can they pass a law like this?' asked Mexican Rep. Leticia Amparano-Gamez, who represents Nogales . 'There is not one person living in Sonora who does not have a friend or relative working in Arizona ,' she said, speaking only in Spanish. 'Mexico is not prepared for this, for the tremendous problems it will face as more and more Mexicans working in Arizona and sending money to their families return to hometowns in Sonora without jobs,' she said. 'We are one family, socially and economically,' she said of the people of Sonora and Arizona.

Maybe someone in the USA should just simply go to Washington DC and take our POS legislators out behind the woodshed and teach them this lesson.

Look what the German and Scandinavian immigrants did to Minnesota.
Naming cities after their towns back in Europe, forcing election ballots to be written in six languages (can you imagine! voting without speaking english), schools having to hire teachers to speak their language and them living in neighborhoods only with others who speak their jibberish and even took over whole town (New Ulm, New Munich, New Germany, New Prague, Oslo, Luverne,Finlayson, and such). I won't even mention the clubs that popped up so that these immigrant can further isolate themselves from the population and plan and plot who knows what. Why do we need a Sons of Norway anyway?

Kasper's critics. In its letter, AFSCME Council 5 warns that if Kasper doesn't step down within 30 days, the union will pull all but a token level of funding from the federation.
The Office of Professional Employees International Union Local 12 also sent a letter threatening to pull out, and the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 789 last month said it's pulling out as a result of Kasper's refusal to resign.
Unionized employees at the Pioneer Press, including reporters and some editors, are part of a union that contributes to the federation.
