A man who claims he was roughed up by Minneapolis police during a Critical Mass bike ride two years ago has reached a $70,000 settlement with the city.
Gus Ganley says amateur video helped discredit a police officer who allegedly claimed he had no interaction with Ganley.
During the August 2007 bike ride, police said the crowd was out of control. Officers sprayed mace and used stun guns while trying to restore order.
Ganley says the video shows one officer throwing him over a squad car and "manhandl(ing)" him.
The Minneapolis City attorney tells WCCO-TV the settlement resolves the matter without the city or officers acknowledging any wrongdoing. The city attorney says the settlement helps avoid the uncertainty of a trial.
Well Good for him, at least there is Justice in one City. Not like St.Paul, and what they have done to me since May 2, 2008.
Which I was arrested under Fraudulant Charges, and the charges were dropped, but I was forced into a Disability Retirment. And still have not got my property back from the St.Paul Police Dept..
I was set up, it was a which hunt, that went to a Veterans Hearing, and they were trying to fire me, because I am disabled/Handicapped, which is against the Law.
