Bob, stop making me go to Berg's site, I might catch something...
As to the Council action, I think the much more interesting thing is what does the City do when the property is sold without complying with the ordinance?
The City has no roll in the chain of title in a real estate transaction in Minnesota. So, when someone buys a property from the bank and files the new deed with the county, one assumes the county processes the deed. They have no reason not to.
I would guess that would then leave the City in the possition where it does what to the bank that sold the house? Fine them?
I don't get it.
So, I am guessing some time soon someone ends up buying a house with those issues without the bank complying and we will find out

I'll tell ya what they'll do Repke. They'll declare the purchaser a code violator and prosecute him.....the house a nusiance.....refuse to issue any permits and then tear it down to make it available to some non profit leech like you. Probably with a subsidy!
Thanks to "Shot in the Dark" Berg the Blogger apparantly partnering with Bobby the Blogger
We hit the 2003 mark of vacant bldgs,

i see Mitch is starting to come to some of the same conculsions many of us here have.
The truth is coming out slowly but surely.
6:37, no partnership with "Shot In The Dark". I like Mitch, we are internet friends. I thought the piece he put together on the vacant housing crisis was an interesting perspective and worthy of discussion.
Thanks, Bob. You do a great job, and you don't get anywhere near the credit you should.
Chuck - you keep coming to "Shot", you might catch some common sense. Then you'll be a Republican.
There'll be a Part V shortly. I'm trying to do a properly-reported story, and between work, real life, and the temporary liberation of Saint Paul (the convention), it's hard to squeeze it all in.
