Saint Paul Homicide Unit investigating shooting which resulted in 1 dead, 3 wounded
Saint Paul Police Homicide Unit investigators are investigating a homicide that occurred in the early morning hours of May 31, 2000.
At approximately 1:30 am, police were called to the area of Thomas Avenue and Grotto Street by a 911 caller who heard several shots and saw several people running in the area. Officers at the scene learned that several shooting victims were taken to Regions, United and Saint Joseph’s Hospitals in private vehicles.
The deceased victim is a 28 year old male who resides in Saint Paul. A motive for the shootings has not yet been determined, although it is not believed to be random. Investigators have identified several persons of interest and have detained two people for questioning.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will be performing an autopsy to determine the nature and cause of death.
Investigators are also looking for additional witnesses and suspects. Anyone with information about this case or the whereabouts of the suspect(s) is asked to call the Saint Paul Police Department at 651-291-1111.
Driver Hit by Gun Fire, Crashes and Rolls Car
On June 1, 2008 at 12:45am Saint Paul Police Western District officers responded to a shooting in the 2300 block Hampden Avenue. Once they arrived, they did not find evidence of a shooting but did find an overturned vehicle near the intersection of Long Street and Raymond Avenue.
After a short investigation, officers determined that the victim had left a party in the area and was driving on Long Avenue when two black males stepped out into the street and started shooting at the victims’ vehicle as it drove by. The victim was wounded in the thigh, lost control of his vehicle and struck a parked car, which caused his vehicle to roll over onto its roof.
The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center by a private person where he was treated and released.
Saint Police Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting at this time. We are requesting that anyone having information about his incident to please call the Saint Paul Police Department at (651) 291-1111

A St. Paul police officer en route to a shooting call early Sunday morning was hospitalized after a pickup truck struck his squad car.
As the officer drove his squad car through the intersection of University Avenue and Snelling Avenue around 12:45 a.m. it was struck, according to a press release. The officer was pinned in the squad car and had to be rescued by firefighters.
The officer is in stable condition at Regions Hospital. The occupants of the truck were treated for injuries and released. Police have not released the name of the officer.
The officer was responding to a report of a shooting in the 2300 block of Hampden Avenue. After a short investigation, police determined that a man had been shot in the thigh while leaving a party in the area. The victim was driving on Long Avenue when two men stepped into the street and shot at the victim's vehicle. The victim lost control of his vehicle, struck a parked car and rolled his vehicle on its roof at the intersection of Long Street and Raymond Avenue. Police have not released the name of the victim.

But does Kathy Lantry get complaints in her office about these shootings? Hell no, she just gets complaints about landlords, that's the real problem in the city......just forget these shootings....that's the cost of running a first class city, right Kathy?
Gosh. Things will be so much better and the city will be so much safer when Mayor Coleman is reelected. I mean, Bill Finney being his campaighn co chair and all the city of st. paul just can't lose. What a joke. I might have voted for Coleman until I saw his web site with Finney's picture and name on it. Birds of a feather.

Two Arrested and Victim Identified in Frog town Shooting
Two persons have been arrested and are awaiting charges from the Ramsey County Attorneys Office. Paris Damian Atkins, 28 of Saint Paul and Lance Joseph Hartwig, 26 of Saint Paul were arrested in conjunction with the homicide of Kevin Desuan Dunn, 28 of Saint Paul. Dunn was shot and killed on May 31, 2008 in the area of Thomas Avenue and Grotto Street.
Saint Paul Homicide detectives continue to seek additional suspects.
I guess the city council hasn't condemned enough criminals homes to get them ALL out of the city.
