Lee Helgen is unfit for office. Hi is lost at council meetings and needs Kathy Lantry to lead him around by the hand.

His happiness at a house being torn down is a true sign at what dolt this "Little Boy" is.

My vote is going for Haas as he is the far better candidate for city council in Ward 5.

That is jsut what Helgen said before he was elected. I called him on the phone to tell him about what was going on in the city and to ask if he would try to make a change. His frist reamrks were arrogant as hell as he made some remark about because I did not want to tell him who I was, he was wondering why he should even talk to me! He then said he would talk anyways, and then said he would look into the problems and agreed that this type of activity should not be happening. Well he sure looked into it, and from the his attitude toward Nancy's house on Jessamine, he obviouly liked what he saw when he looked into it. I wouldn't vote for Helgen if it meant having no one represent me in my ward.

I wonder if Hass realizes that if he wins he will have to agree to being led around by the nose by Kathy Lantry if she's still there?

Do you want Lee "Little Boy" Helgen or HAAS.

If you want to continue down the road we are currently on then vote for Helgen and loose all of your property rights.

If you want real change vote for Haas.

In light of any other candidates entering this race, a vote for Haas is a clear vote for change.

I personally don't feel Helgen stands a chance, he has proven himself to not be a successful councilman in working with the real needs and issues of his ward and/or community, vacant properties is higher than ever, crime has gone up and become crimes of violence more than in the previous years, and homelessness has risen. I haven't heard of much on the positive list of things in which he claims he has done, the posirtive list appears to be in his mind only not the people of the community.

I still have friends in the North End area that are in contact with me being that I had lived there for over 30 years not one of them will be voting for him either, they are your average families earning an average income, some are also business owners, in fact they are scared of what would follow in the upcoming years if he were to be elected again. People should not have to live in fear of a person that suppose to be there to support the community and answer the publics questions, Mr. Helgen has failed to do both for his community.

JOINT STATEMENT BY DAVID HAAS AND LEE HELGEN CAMPAIGNS

Both the Helgen and Haas campaigns had the opportunity to observe the St. Paul DFL 5th Ward convention credentials committee. That committee dealt with an unprecedented number of credentials challenges, and both campaigns want to thank the committee for its extraordinarily lengthy and difficult work.
The campaigns understandably still have significant concerns with the credentials committee report. However both campaigns do not want the convention to have to endure a protracted, contentious credentials fight at a short evening convention-especially when the outcome of that fight would leave us with a clouded endorsement.
For those reasons the Helgen and Haas campaigns have agreed that neither one will challenge the credentials report at the 5th ward convention, and they strongly encourage the delegates to conclude the convention with a vote for "no endorsement" for City Council. Both campaigns have also agreed to support the rules committee report for the convention.

Signed,

David Haas Lee Helgen
