Dear Eastside Resident in Ward 5,

Thank you for your commitment to our community and your faith in the future of Saint Paul. I would like to invite you to participate in a community discussion about issues facing the Eastside of Saint Paul and what the City is doing to make the Eastside a better place to live, raise a family, and do business. Below are the details for an upcoming meeting for Eastside Residents in Ward 5 that I hope you can attend:

Event: Ward 5 - Eastside Community Meeting

Location: Bruce Vento Elementary, 409 E. Case Ave.

Date: Thursday, February 15

Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Over the past several years, the Eastside has benefited from a great deal of new investment and we have seen a number of positive changes resulting from this investment. We have new housing being constructed, people investing in their homes, and hundreds of jobs moving into the area along the Phalen Boulevard. However, there are a number of issues that require attention as the City plans for the delivery of services. I would like to have us step back and take a good look at the strengths of the Eastside and begin to move forward an agenda that reflects our values and our hopes for the future. As we do this, I will need your help as we make the case for additional public investment in our neighborhoods.

Please bring your ideas about how we can build stronger relationships, where we can focus investment dollars, how to use code enforcement more effectively, and what you believe will make a positive change in your neighborhood.

Even if you cannot attend this meeting on February 15th, please feel free to share your thoughts with me. You may send me an e-mail at ward5@ci.stpaul.mn.us or call my office at 651-266-8650.

Thanks for your time and best wishes for the future,

Lee Helgen

Councilmember, Ward 5
