Jesse Ventura For President Petition

Hi All,

The organizers of the "Jesse Ventura for President Petition" have asked me to post this. You can click onto the title of this post for a link to the Petition.

Some of you know how I feel about this. Bill Dahn is a friend of mine, but in keeping with the tradition we are establishing for our Town Hall Meeting I have to fulfill this request and post the information. We have to be inclusive of all people. And I know some of you are Jesse fans.. So I,we, respect all opinions here. Thanks...

*The 2008 presidential election will offer the same old empty promises and betrayals, unless.....

There are some Republicans and Democrats that are starting to announce their intentions to run for President in 2008. The playing field for the upcoming highest office in the land once again is looking bleak and disheartening from what the 2 different faces of the same party are putting forth. Is there a better choice? A hope for a better future? A hope to maintain (and restore) Freedom and Liberty?

The Libertarians, Greens, Independents, Reforms, and all other minor parties will more than likely follow history and do what they have done several times over in the past, and that is to remain minor. Each getting 1% or less on average, and by and large just being dismissed by the main stream media and voters. What alternatives are there for those of us that want to preserve and restore Freedom and Liberty? Those of us that feel government is too big and intrusive. Those of us that want REAL change in America. Is there an alternative?

I think if we all join together behind someone who is by and large aligned with the ideals of Freedom and Liberty, rather than each support our own minor candidate that has little or no chance of making an impact; and instead we all push and work together, we can make a far bigger splash. However it MUST be someone with immediate name recognition on a national level. Someone without ties to special interests. Someone who has held office(s) with success.

I think the best person with the name recognition and ability to actually win, who will get press coverage and be included in the debates, and most importantly represent the "freedom lovers" among us is.... Jesse Ventura.

Jesse is known as a socially libertarian, fiscally conservative politician. What could he do for America and Americans as President? President Ventura would potentially:

* End the income tax in favor of a sales tax.
* End pork-barrel spending; return surplus to the people.
* Return any budget surpluses to the taxpayers automatically.
* Respect diversity, both cultural and lifestyle.
* Opposes “Three Strikes”; leave discretion to judges.
* End the war on drugs since it has failed; look for other solutions.
* Fund schools at state level instead of via property taxes.
* Overcome dependency on foreign oil.
* Increase voluntary partnerships to reduce greenhouse gases economically.
* Open up, simplify, & demystify government.
* Help promote that government service should be temporary; not a career.
* Promote individual responsibility for unhealthy lifestyle choices.
* View social programs as a safety net, not a hammock.

Jesse has not announced an intention to run for office as of yet. He has not officially said no either. There is a petition drive at www.voters4ventura.com to show support for Jesse running for office. Is he perfect? No. Nobody is. There are those of you who will read this that will have an issue with Jesse for something he did, or did not do. The old saying that you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time is so very true. He speaks his mind and steps on toes sometimes. Exactly the opposite of most politicians who tip toe around and spin things to try and appeal to as many people as possibly, but usually are spewing words with no intention of even trying to follow through. Politicians who forget their constituents when they get caught up in the grease that is lubricating the "wheels of government". Jesse tells it like it is and how he sees it. Isn't that refreshing.

Whether you like him or not, I think you have to admit Jesse is the best hope all of us "Freedom Lovers" have at seeing someone with a similar viewpoint as our own, as President. A far better chance than anything the Republicans or Democrats will offer; as they are both for bigger government, more spending, more invasion of privacy and more waste. And the minor third party candidates will once again go nowhere and do nothing and will be ignored by the mainstream media. And should we fail to come together and back someone with national name recognition, who holds similar at least 75% of our beliefs; once again, we will be left gnashing our teeth in angst for 4 years with the Dempublican / Republicrat office holder who will continue turning the USA into the USSA. And by 2012, it might be too late to undo the damage of National ID's, Patriot Acts, data mining and surveillance, warranties spying, surrendering of Habeas Corpus, more bloated government programs and "protections", and who knows what else...

If you want to see someone who will stand up for Freedom and Liberty and the everyday American in the 2008 election, I urge you to go sign the petition at www.voters4ventura.com so we can hopefully get Jesse to bite the bullet and run for Freedom and Liberty, and for you and me.

I don't know what he did as governor, except cut out the license tab fee. It would be rather scarey to have him as president. You have to be somewhat humble to be in that position of power and sorry I just don't see anything humble, not to metion honorable or having anthing like tact to speak of concerning Jesse Ventura.

How could anyone not like this agenda. I'd like to see the big guy run. Of coarse an apology to Bill Dahn would be appropriate.

This is what it states in fine print at the petition site-

*This site is in no way affiliated with Jesse Ventura, Jesse Ventura for President, or any other Ventura organization.

Geeesh, organizers of the petition, how do you know what jesse's agenda is if you have no affiliation with him. Is this a Ventura store front in disguise.

The Republicans and Democrats would just shut him down.Jesse couldn't get anything done just like when he was Governor.

His agenda is great, only it will never happen.

I thought Jesse did a good job in getting the $75.00 jet ski tax resolved.
He had 3 of them himself, was that why?
Jesse is Jesse.
The license tab fee, that was the same idea.
Jesse had a few older cars that wouldn't pass the inspection.
Jesse is and always' was out for Jesse, not Minnesota.
Just think how, Jesse thought he was above the law.
He could and would do the same.
Jesse would stop the war on drugs,
he is a user.
So a user would want drugs legal.
He ran the state in the hole,
that is why Pawlenty cut so many programs for the poor.
I would like Jesse in, just so he could screw up America like he did our state

He also sold us down the river on the conceal and carry law. When he ran for office he said he was in favor of it and wanted it and after he won and got his carry permit, I remember him saying something like "I got mine so I don't care." He also wasted no time appointing a bunch of democrats wherever he could. I wondered if he was really a democrat just hiding out. I also voted for him! Not because I liked him, but because I was sicj and tired of these phoney politicians that have a slick answer fro everything. They never say anything from their heart, and they are so dis-ingenuous they don't even fool my kids any longer.

Hi Bob
Your friend Bill Dahn made,to much trouble for Jesse.
Bill seems like he just want to get some thing for nothing out of life.
He was stepping on everyone toe for years.
I read the Leslie Davis book,
if it was true, they would have put Jesse and his friend in jail.
I don't like how he has been kicking city government around.
Bill has a grudge with some one,
tell him to get over it.
I don't care much for him calling the two parties names like demorats and republicers.

It isn't my place to tell Bill to get over it.

Bill won't get over it until he feels vindicated..People acknowledging that what happened to Bill is true, is a start to feeling vindicated..

He alway's "lied" about being a Navy Seal.
He will "Lie" agian about, whatever he needs to.
Bill Dahn seems to be a big mouth.
But if the things he was saying are ture, why did it get washed under the table.
I never read the book, now will be a good time to do so.
He cheated the state, next if had the chance would be the U.S.A.

Here is an article taken off of WorldNetDaily. I know a poster out there somewhere is just waiting for more! Secretly I may like to irk you but moreso, I like to get information out!

By: Mychal Massie

Dr. King's dream today a nightmare

Jan. 15, 2007, is the annual commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Signs, posters, radio/TV ads and the all-inclusive holiday sale will remind us that it's time for America, as a nation, to remember the injustices he fought.
Preachers will preach special sermons, teachers will have special lesson plans, and politicians, coupled with the usual colliers of immiseration, will pose for photo-ops. All will reference how he fought for the freedom, equality and dignity of blacks. There will be marches, chants and choruses of "we shall overcome" – all of which will be carefully designed and presented to omit the fact that we have "overcame" [sic].

Sadly, but certainly not unexpectedly, Dr. King's day of national commemoration has devolved into a day of misrepresentation of what he actually stood for: "blame the white capitalistic system" in general, "white conservatives" specifically, and "immiseration rallies" ad nauseum. I submit it is time to honor his memory in truth and honesty. I am long since wearied of the dissociative falsities surrounding his life and words.

Speaking of his life – it is enough to say he put it on the line, literally, every day. He didn't retreat – he didn't apologize. He didn't distort the truth – he instead offered it up for America and the world to see. Presentation of the undiluted truth was a sulfuric colonic to the racist elements of his day. It was reality TV before islands, desperate wives and trying to impress casino owners.

Dr. King didn't need to invent injustice – being denied the right to vote, eat, purchase and live where he chose didn't need inventing. Same was the zeitgeist of his environs. Beatings, fire hoses and attack dogs in the hands of the hate-filled didn't need embellishing – it needed only to be seen every night on the evening news for the conscience of America to demand change.

Truth can be denied by the darkness of hatred and by the recalcitrant, but it can never be disproved, nor can it ultimately be diminished. But some forms of truth are less transpicuous than others, thus the reason uninformed and uneducated people are so easily misled.

While there are any number of scholarly positions that would be open to cogent and reasoned debate were Dr. King still alive, what is not open for debate are his position on segregation, be it codified or self-imposed, or his position on drinking from the cup of bitterness and resentment that so many blissfully imbibe from today. And when we read:

In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.
We must forever conduct our struggles on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. …The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers … realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedoms. …
(I have a dream speech, Aug. 28, 1963

It gives us some indication of what he may have thought or said to the Jacksons, Sharptons, Farrakhans or Julian Bonds of today. Who cares to speculate per his opinion of the National Urban League president, Mark Morial, who praised Planned Parenthood as a "good organization," even though the Ugandan parasite, Idi Amin, murdered fewer Africans during his entire bloodthirsty reign than the number of black babies Planned Parenthood casually murders annually with the blessing of so-called black leadership.

What would he say of his dream today – when we examine the devastating effect personal and social irresponsibility has had on the black family? We can but wonder how he would feel about black gangs, drugs, educational largesse, generational welfare and the damning results of the Great Society Initiative.

Perhaps instead of preening for photo-ops, the feckless fantasia called liberal politicians and black leadership would better spend their time trying to remember exactly what Dr. King's dream was – because their version of same more closely resembles the nightmare of nocturnal occlusion.

here is odd news about Jesse,
When Leslie Davis and Bill Dahn was protesting Jesse at tpt CH.2,
they had a doll of Jesse with a Dipper on.
It said on the dipper CRY BABY.
So if it is true that Jesse's
V.P. will be another wrestler with the words Cry Baby in the name, it sound right.
"Cry baby Cannonball" Insider news, he is going to be Jesse's VP.:)
Jesse Bribe Bill Dahn , so he would get off the REFORM PARTY.
Just so the baby wouldn't lose his radio show on KFAN.
Bill Dahn would have gotten the same 3 hr. radio time on KFAN.
He Lost The Show.
But the menarche Cry Baby will live with Jesse all his life.
Jesse with his pink boa, and his pink fairy like composer always made him a fairy nice gay ----
"opp's" Guy.

I would vote for Jesse again...

The drug war is a failure and he is the first person to say they would try to end it.

That would free up alot of wasted money..
