St. Paul Assistant police Chief Matt Bostrom Assistant St. Paul police Chief Matt Bostrom said today he would likely challenge longtime Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher for the job.
Bostrom said he has formed a campaign committee and will start raising funds for the 2010 race.
"I am confident that my commitment to professional public service and to the core values of protecting our citizens, partnering with the community, reducing neighborhood crime, practicing fiscal responsibility and collaborating with other law enforcement agencies are what the citizens expect from their sheriff," Bostrom said in a statement.
Bostrom said his campaign co-chairs include U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum, Ramsey County commissioners Victoria Reinhardt and Tony Bennett, Minnesota Sen. Mee Moua, and St. Paul police Chief John Harrington.
Bostrom has more than 27 years of law enforcement experience.
9:48 PM said. Bostrom's would say Like Farther, Like Son. Home Land Security.
Daddy Dan Bostrom was a St.Paul cop, the son was HOMELAND SECURITY and a St.Paul cop. Bostrom's Run St.Paul now, Matt wants to take over power of Ramsey County Sheriff. Lets start electing St.Paul's Police Chief, then watch and see how much money the DFL Party pours out to control the power.
By electing a police chief stops control by the mayor or city council. St.Paul's Democrats control the police, St.Paul's Government is like Hitler's SS Troops.
