Conscience is the light of the Soul that burns within the chambers of our psychological heart. It is as real as life is. It raises the voice in protest whenever anything is thought of or done contrary to the righteousness. Conscience is a form of truth that has been transferred through our genetic stock in the form of the knowledge of our own acts and feelings as right or wrong. A virtuous and courageous person can alone use the instrument of conscience. He or she can alone hear the inner voice of the soul clearly. In a wicked person this faculty is absent. The sensitive nature of his / her conscience has been destroyed by sin or corruption. Hence he or she is unable to discriminate right from wrong. Those who are leading organizations, business enterprises, institutions and governments should develop this virtue of the ability to use their own conscience. This wisdom of using the clean conscience will enable them to enjoy the freedom.

Authorities: Porter killed after picking up prostitute in drugs, cash for sex deal

Howard Porter was trying to trade crack and cash for sex with a prostitute he picked up before he was beaten to death, according to a Ramsey County criminal complaint.
The Ramsey County Attorney's Office today charged Rashad Arthur Raleigh, 29, with murder in the second degree in connection with the death of Howard Porter.
According to the criminal complaint, Porter accompanied the prostitute he had picked up on Sherburne Avenue - Tonya Evette Johnson - to her apartment. Johnson told police four masked men rushed in to the apartment threw her to the floor and demanded drugs and money from Porter. Johnson said the masked men beat Porter "real bad" and there was "blood everywhere."
Johnson told police Raleigh and another man had been at her apartment earlier that evening.
Porter worked as a probation officer. He had spoken publicly about his rise as an NBA player and his fall into drug addiction as well as his redemption as a probation officer.
Porter, 58, left his home on Iglehart Avenue in St. Paul on May 18. Early the next morning, he was found severely beaten in an alley in the 3700 block of Humboldt Avenue North in Minneapolis and was checked into a hospital as a John Doe.
Porter died of his injuries May 26. His car, whose exterior and trunk were bloodstained, was found at 291 Ravoux Ave. in the Summit-University neighborhood of St. Paul.
Raleigh, of St. Paul, was originally arrested in early June in connection with Porter's death but was released without being charged.
Raleigh is scheduled to make his first appearance in Ramsey County District Court this afternoon at the law enforcement center.
Sad, real sad.
His wife is a good person and this is really a shame.

I knew Howard. Howard was a good man. A friend to all that knew him. I don't believe these allegations.

How sad. Even if these allegations are true, he did not deserve what happened to him.
More government workers exhibiting behavior the same government says is not allowed to the rest of us. The only that suprises me is that they didn't try to cover this part of it up. The Pioneer Press is so in bed with all these government people that they actually cover up things better than they report things.
This is a sad story, but hard to know if its true at this time.
We do need more openness to assure the citizens that things are being handled properly.
