Sharon, the lot in question is the old "Tanner's Lake" VFW building on East Seventh just east of White Bear. They were selling the building about a year and a half ago and I picked it up for potential redevelopment (it was for sale and we negosiated a price of $300,000 + $50,000 from the city for demo).

At the same time I negosiated the acqisition of the properties (three old buildings) across the street. We demolished them and sold the site (at a loss) to "the Smile Center" which is a new dental clinic.

We are now selling the old VFW lot to the Smile Center for additional parking. There is no way that they would buy it for the price that we paid for it, so we are asking the City to discount the debt so we can sell it to the Smile Center.

That is how we do redevelopment NENDC is a nonprofit corporation that looks to acquire and hold properties until we can find new development to come to the neighborhood. Its a great dental clinic and the extra parking will be good for all of the businesses in the area.

Two weeks from now you will see on the HRA the TDA for the new Cub development.

Repke
This sound odd when you and your partners paid $$$$$$$$$.
Now you say you would sell for a loss.
Why should the city takes a loss because of some deal you make.
Whoops not the city fore say,
the tax payers.
Is that Repke really a reputable man?
$$$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$$$

The issue with Bob Beale was that he was disagreeing with the MN. Revenue Office, they were taxing Bob on the sale of CH-23.
He was a FL. resident at the time and Minnesota was saying he was a resident here in Minnesota.
Bob is a regular down to earth person who stands up for his rights.
He's not a snob to others, a friendly person.
Lets get Bob Beale elected Minnesota Governor in the 2010 race.
