ORWELL A RADICAL

Orwell, in fact, resembles his own picture of Charles Dickens: "... a man who is always fighting against something, but who fights in the open and is not frightened, the face of a man who is generously angry."

That kind of character, scarce as it will always be, is why The Economist says Orwell's voice "speaks as urgently to our times as it did to his". >http://www.netcharlas.com/orwell/articles/col-oradical.htm

Bob> I wish there were more Orwellian characters. The world would be a better place!

If Orwell were alive today he would be shaking his head stating "I told you so".

I like Orwell too Bob.

Anyone with a brain would kmow better than to "fight in the open" in St. Paul with their retaliatory disposition. There was a guy a few years ago that lived in some other state, and he had a beef with some hearing aid repair company in St. Paul. He writes a letter to the City Coincil complaining about this repair guy, and guess what the Counl does. Ty send a housing inspector out to this guys house to turn his life upside down. The only suprising thing about it was that the newspaper reported on it.

I'm sorry I didn't intend to suggest everyone should come out and face these people in the city who have done so much damage to their families and livelihood.

I am aware of the City's retaliatory practices. All that know me know I have been attacked on various levels for being outspoken.

I DO HAVE A BRAIN! SO do the people at the Watchdog News who have made this a public issue.

I was only suggesting there is a rare breed of people who will openly fight on principle with little regard for their own self.

Somebody has to be the "tip of the spear". And that is a very public postion.Anonyomity is not a viable option on the front lines winning over opinion.

These people have to know there is those of us who will face them publicly and not back down.

We proudly do this in the interest of justice. And to protect those who wouldn't have a voice due to the retaliatory games the City uses to shut someone up.

Example of retaliatory action. When the Property Rights Advocates protested outside the Federal Court house down town St. Paul. Code enforcement was there taking their pictures, then identifying protester. If they were a rental property owner they immediately went out and wrote up compliance complaints on a number of investment properties owned by these protesters.

I also don't think anyone would be surprised if the Watchdog News reported on any of this stuff!:-)
