The point is the connections are non-existent. They were brought up when he first ran and researched by everybody. It was discovered that Keith belongs to a very liberal Mosque that does a lot of outreach work with Jewish organizations. His campaign co-chair and a bulk of his supporters were jewish, as is a number of his staffers.
Immediately after being elected, President Bush called on him to travel his state department and advisers to help with our relations in the Muslim world while we were conducting two wars. He passed the background check.
What's really unAmerican are Republicans who want to shred the constitution. Freedom of Religion unless you're other than a Christian or Jew. Equal protection under the law unless you're poor. If you are born here, you are an American, unless your parents are of an 'unapproved' race. Freedom of Speech unless they disagree with your speech. Innocent until proven guilty unless they tell enough lies so much that guilt is assumed.
That's the Republican party of today, drum up fear and hate among some of their white supporters to win in November. However, as we're seeing in New York and DC, this fervor for violence is not easily turned off.
Bob, why don't you stick to what you do best, sitting back with your buddies making shit up, and leave the real politics that actually will matter to folks like me.
I'm sure there's another 'funny' sexist video you can find to post on the women in the Democratic Party. High brow stuff like that grants you so much credibility.

I can admit the Republicans and DEMOCRATS do their fair share of fear mongering. You would never admit your party does any wrong.
As far as credibility, I give opposition the opportunity to dispute the information posted here. You haven't convinced me Keith isn't affiliated with the CAIR group. In support of your party you have mislead us in the past.
I will invite Keith here to say these allegations aren't true. If he doesn't comment on this topic we will have to assume it is TRUE.
In the mean time folk's read this information on CAIR they have been investigated by the FBI.

OK. I am posting right here and now that I heard Michele Bachmann is a closet lesbian and that's the reason she hates gays so much. If she doesn't answer, then it must be true.
I'm also posting that Tom Emmer has been known to target practice on poodle puppies. If he doesn't answer it must be true.
I won't trust their party spokes people because they have mislead us before with their lies like death panels, weapons of mass destruction, tax cuts for nothing, a muslim president, etc. etc.

Pipes is a failed academic who has turned to a career of bigotry. Don't believe me, listen to others:

The first Muslim member of Congress is linked to a radical Islamic school of thought that requires loyalty to the Quran over the U.S. Constitution, WND has learned.
Between 1992 and 2000, Ellison failed to pay all or part of his income taxes in five separate years. Consequently, the IRS placed liens on his home and he eventually was forced to pay some $25,000 in back taxes. Ellison also ignored fines that he had incurred for parking tickets and moving violations so numerous that his driver's license was suspended multiple times.
In October 1992 Ellison publicly came to the defense of Sharif Willis, a convicted murderer and ex-convict who was now the leader of Minneapolis’ violent Vice Lords gang. The previous month, four Vice Lords members had used Willis’ house as their headquarters for planning the murder of a local police officer named Jerry Haaf. At the trial of one of the killers, two witnesses implicated Willis in the plot. Willis was never charged, however, because law-enforcement authorities said they lacked sufficient evidence to convict him. But Ellison nonetheless helped organize a demonstration against Minneapolis police, where he denounced “the campaign of slander the police federation has been waging” against Willis. He told the crowd that the police union was systematically trying to frighten white people in order to persuade the city to hire more officers and thereby strengthen the police union’s power base.

WASHINGTON - Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, had little good to say about President Bush's foreign policy when he ran for office
last year.
Now, two months in office, the Minnesota Democrat plans to meet with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other top State Department officials to talk about showcasing his story as part of their public diplomacy efforts in the Muslim world.
"Hey, my country first. We can work out our political differences later," said Ellison, an outspoken critic of the Iraq war. "I've said I'm willing to do whatever I can to make some friends for America."
Adding to the cachet he's built since taking his oath of office on Thomas Jefferson's Qur'an, Ellison has been profiled three times by the State Department's overseas press bureau.
On Monday he did a Voice of America interview from his office, where an American flag was placed conspicuously behind his desk for the cameras.
He's scheduled to follow up on Thursday in a teleconference with Karen Hughes, the State Department's undersecretary for public diplomacy. The White House has asked that the teleconference promote American values and confront ideological support for terrorism around the world.
'Most famous freshman'
Muslim commentators and administration officials say that, whatever controversy Ellison has engendered at home, he can help the United States' image abroad, especially in the Arab world.
"It's a very positive development," said Voice of America's Faiz Rehman, a Pakistani native and senior political producer. "He is the most famous freshman congressman in the world."
Ellison's swearing-in in January turned him into one of the hottest journalistic commodities on Capitol Hill, particularly for the foreign press, which had to be ushered out of his office after he took his oath to make room for home-state news crews.
Now the State Department's public diplomacy arm is swinging into the act.
Ellison has been featured in a series of articles written for foreign dissemination by the Department's Bureau of International Information Programs. The most recent, published last month, highlighted the diversity of his constituents in Minnesota, ranging from Swedes and Norwegians to "the largest Somali immigrant community in America."
The article has been translated into Farsi and Arabic, according to State Department officials.
In his Voice of America interview, which is aimed at the Middle East and South Asia, Ellison quoted the Qur'anic verse 49:13: "Oh humanity, we created you from a single pair ..."
He said it's part of his message of global inclusiveness.
Although the Bush administration is promoting Ellison as an example of American religious tolerance, part of his international appeal comes from the controversy he's encountered at home.
Since Ellison became a candidate for Congress last year, his religion has been fodder for political opponents, including Minnesota Republicans who tried to tie him to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.
When he decided to take his oath on the Qur'an, Virginia Republican Rep. Virgil Goode called it an illustration of the need for immigration changes, even though Ellison grew up in Detroit. A national talk show host asked him if he was working with "our enemies."

Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Washington-based Council on American Islamic Relations, compared Ellison's overseas appeal to that of boxing icon Muhammad Ali, who refused to serve in Vietnam.
"Muslims around the world know that America has a tradition of religious tolerance," he said. "They'd like to see us live up to that tradition."
Showcasing the positive
Ellison, for his part, plays up the positive in the American experience, noting that the nation's founders chose not to establish an official state religion.
"Religious tolerance has a much longer pedigree in America than some of the intolerance we've seen lately," he told Voice of America.
But he hasn't backed off from his criticism of the Bush administration's Iraq policy, saying he wants people around the world to know that "there are many Americans who want to relate to the rest of the world in terms of cooperation, not military domination."
His staffers say the State Department has shown no signs of squeamishness about publicizing his criticism of the war.

director, said he warned one State Department writer that "we don't agree on much." That was fine, came the reply. "They said it's about democracy and dissent," he said.

You must be new to America. Members of Congress are sworn in as a group and they only raise their hand facing the podium and flag. Afterwords, their family and friends line up with them to take a picture, the photo op only, has a bible in it. Ellison used Thomas Jefferson's Koran for the photo op. During the photo op, there is no oath administered or repeated.
What else do you have to scare people or rile up hate? Any like legislative stuff, you know what we actually elect them to do. This group is rehashing all of the failed allegations that was put out there BEFORE he was elected to Congress. Its your words versus the actual records and history of Congressman Ellison. Its too late to use the ol Republican tactic of scaring white people, they are already comfortable.

If you've been reading for a while, Eric is black (and part indian I think) so his family has been here before yours, he's also a former staffer for John Kerry. I'm not sure why that is an issue for some, he has supported his side with a lot of links and proof and the response is he must be a somali? Reidiculous response.
Going all the way back to the top, I noticed the Bob criticized the link that exposes Lynn. But, its exactly the kind of link on the opposite side that he uses for his other topics.
although its four or five against 1, Eric has proved that Ellison is not a radical Islamist by showing his amazing and strange support from some of these Jewish organizations that have zero tolerance for Islamists. Ellison's record is very liberal and that may be the real reason behind some of your distaste. However, four years in Congress and nothing to suggest he's anything but a run of the mill liberal. Just like Martin Sabo was. Nothing scary there unless you're a conservative.
